Summary

After a disaster of a first heat, I’m ready to swear off alphas and escape to a cabin in the woods.

My body has other plans.

Now that I’m awakened, I can’t survive another heat alone.

Problem is, I hate alphas, hate packs, and really super hate the so-called mates I can’t forgive and can’t forget.

Now my biological clock’s ticking too fast to handle, and I can’t wait on Wyvern Pack to figure out their damage.

I’ll take care of my own needs.

And if you can’t give me what I want, then get out of my way.

Because this omega bites back.

This book contains frequent cursing, references to assault that may be disturbing, and a few alphaholes who need to grovel for redemption. It's a medium-burn romance with high heat that includes MM and MMFMMM scenes.

The burn was too slow

Really enjoyed this, but lost patience with the main character and her endless moaning - pity

Amazing ♡♡♡ when is book 3?

Wow, love the writing style and detail that when into the story. Would love to see Lyla take on the world with her pack behind her. Feel so sorry for Orion - and the book finished before the epic session 😢 gutted. Looking forward to immersing myself in your work again xx

Couldn’t put it down

Absolutely exhilarating read/ listen. Just as good as the first book and can’t wait for the next one.
Felt like I never wanted it to end!

Great.. but

I've really enjoyed the two books, the first book being my favourite the only problem I have is the constant whining about how badly she was treated. I know she was it was in book one and I thought she would be less doubtful about their intentions. Anyway apart from that one thing I did enjoy the story and characters I loved them all. Troy being an added bonus as narrator I love his voices 😍

Lots of ups and downs

Narration was very good, especially by the male narrator, he captured the different personalities of the characters amazingly. I found I loved seeing the heroine through their eyes but didn't care much for the female point of view. The way she was narrated also didn't endear me to Lila. She's a bit of a nasal, arrogant whiny character. Every chapter I was kind of hoping to have the male perspective and found myself increasingly disappointed when it was another Lila chapter. I found that the story had some major plot holes, and the world building is a bit shaky. There's also quite some deux ex machina and unnecessarily convoluted twists. For example, at some point a piece of tech is conveniently present at a crisis moment only for it to fail at the moment supreme and be replaced by a very convenient yet unexplained biological supernatural feature. These kind of things kept me from being completely immersed in the story. But maybe that's because I'm new the this genre.

The end of the book was a whiplash moment, you arrive at a sort of epilogue moment only for there to be a very obvious spinoff bait insert after which there's another 180° turn and we sail into the sunset. For me this last chapter perfectly captures the incongruous behaviour of the heroine throughout the two books.

In short, the story had its amazing moments and some unenjoyable ones, but the narration is what kept me coming back.

I'm left with the feeling that Wyvern pack should have ended up with someone better.
