Summary

To find her mother, one woman must dive into the depths of magic itself.

Freya has made a name for herself as the Queen Killer; the woman who defeated the Goblin King, then killed the Goblin Queen. Now, she has a new task, one that is much more personal. Her mother is alive, trapped somewhere in the realms of the fae, and she will stop at nothing to get her back.

With the Goblin King at her side, she must face an old enemy. The kingdom they are sent to is filled with beautiful pixies, each one more dangerous than the last. To find her mother, Freya must not only survive this dangerous Court, but also seek out the magic within herself...all while discovering that her feelings for the Goblin King may be more serious than she thought.

Still Going Strong

I still love this story so far. I kind of feel like all of these parts could actually go together as one large book because of how seamless their stories come together.

However, some plot points were a little difficult to understand, mainly revolving around Freya's own magic and the circumstances of how her mother ends up where she is. (*Attempting very hard not to spoil anything, argh!*) The Spring Maiden's motivations are also a little iffy and/or slightly convoluted.

But none of what's listed above dampens how much fun this series is so far.

Oh, and if you were hoping for the romance subplot to ignite--ignite it does in this third installment!

Good, just not my favorite

Potential spoiler alert. I absolutely loved the idea of this story. I love the way Emma Hamm weaves her stories but this story seemed a little forced at times. Freya ran hot and cold quickly. One example was when she got upset because the Goblin King was protective then later she was angry because he wasn't.The performance by Billie Fulford-Brown was very good, I still have trouble with her Goblin King voice but overall her performance was excellent, she made me laugh and cry at very appropriate times. I am still a big fan of Emma Hamm, but I struggled a bit to finish this book.
