Summary

To save her sister, she must beat a goblin at his own game....

Freya knows the sound of goblin bells. She knows to move to the side of the road and let them pass. Never buy any of their wares. And above all else, never make a deal with the monstrous beasts. But when her sister takes a necklace and is kidnapped, Freya knows there is no other choice. She must journey to the realm of the fae where the Goblin King himself has stolen her sister. Once there, she must perform four tasks to save the only family she has left.

The Goblin King won't make this easy, however. He always seems one step ahead of her. To defeat him, she'll have to put everything on the line. Even her heart.

Can’t wait for book two

Another absolutely enchanting read/listen by Emma Hamm. My favorite thing about her books is consistently the settings and the atmospheres she sets by showing instead of telling. The magical environments and faerie courts were so fabulously depicted you could just picture them in your mind. I liked Freya and following her journey and growth throughout her trials and relationships. She was persistent and I’m excited to find out what happens next in this series.

Fun and sweet

I'm not going to lie, I absolutely loved this. Great pacing, relatable and fun heroine, solid support cast and a sweet ending. Will definitely continue the series! :)

Eh, but could be great for the right person

this book is not what I thought. it's 99% adventure 1% romance. I believe this book is really just Newby to lay the ground work for the overall story. so...eh
the voice actress is great for the lead, but sub par for the rest of the characters. the way she voices the male lead is falt out horrible... she makes him sound like a 90 year old man. over all this book is meh

Enjoyable and slightly familiar

A little reminiscent of The Labyrinth in part with a sibling braving the goblin realm to bring back their family member and a goblin king moving the stars to give them their heart's desire but with an enjoyable twist. Will definitely read the other books in the series to see where Freya ends up (hopefully in the willing arms of the goblin king 😉)!

Well, well, well

This was a hidden treasure I'm so glad to have stumbled upon!

When listening to "Of Goblins and Gold," one really can't help but think about the striking similarities between the text and our 1980's almost-from-enemies-to-lovers film, "Labyrinth." We have the whimzy. We have the sister trying to save her sibling. We have the impossible becoming possible. And most importantly--we have a Goblin King who really shouldn't be that mind numbingly attractive and yet here we are. But simply writing this book off as a more *adult* "Labyrinth" would be doing you a disservice. I don't want to spoil that special charm that sets "Of Goblins and Gold" apart, so let me end this review by saying this: if you love a couple that banters and are falling in love without even knowing they are, if you love getting a taste of another world with a promise of exploring more in more books, or if you just like a good adventure, give this book a go. It's worth it!

what was that?

I don't normally write reviews but that book could have been summarized in one chapter. just a girl blundering through one event after another not learning or questioning nothing

A Great Story of a Girls Adventure!

I really enjoyed this story over all though I am excited to see the FMC interaction more with the Goblin King. This was so intriguing as a life long labyrinth and I loved this version! Definitely worth the buy!

Loved it

It was an amazing book with a crazy twist. Reminds me of one of my favorite movies. The Labyrinth.

It was good

Not great but good. If you can’t find anything else this is a good one to read. I probably won’t read the next one right away, but maybe eventually.
