Summary

Xander

Big City is supposedly the place where dreams come true. As someone just trying to live my life, I can tell you it’s more like a recurring nightmare where dreams get c*ckblocked at every turn.

Especially if you’re a supervillain like me.

The irony is that I have zero powers, despite coming from purebred villain stock, but try telling that to Big City’s beloved hero, Captain Masculine.

This himbo is ruining my research, and if his firepower doesn’t kill me, the sight of him in Lycra surely will. Luckily—or unluckily, in my opinion—my bestie just signed me up for the Bangers dating app and found my perfect match.

If this isn’t the start of my villain arc, I don’t know what is.

Butch

It’s hard feeling like I have to wear a mask every day—that the only value I bring to the table is the sparkling image others have created for me.

Such is the life of being Captain Masculine, Big City’s greatest superhero. This is the existence I was destined for, and I will gladly defend this city against every threat to its people.

Except Doctor Antihero.

I’ve seen countless villains come and go, but something about Antihero intrigues me more than the usual hero-villain encounters should.

It’s because of him that I impulsively signed up for a dating app, hoping a meaningless fling with a local normie will help get my head back in the game. The truth is, what I really want is someone who sees me—the man behind the mask.

But that’s a luxury no superhero can afford.

Not All Himbos Wear Capes is an MM romance between a superhero and a villain. This is not your kid’s superhero book. This is Sin City and The Boys having a love child with extra spicy Spideypool and is meant for 18+ adults who can handle such things.

The Villainous Things series contains standalone books (each with HEAs) that feature interconnected characters and an overarching plot.

Loved it!

Entertaining, steamy, morally grey characters and the Fated Mate trope (my kryptonite).
I was a bit apprehensive starting the book because of the superheroes & bdsm aspects-which I don't read often-but it was fun and sexy and apparently my kind of bdsm! My only complain is that I found the last quarter to be a tiny bit dragging.
The narrators, Philip Alces and John Solo, also did a great job!

How, how, how is this so entertaining??? 🫤

Skeptics, try this one!

When this popped up on my Audible recommendations, I thought their algorithm was broken. Super heroes? Not really my thing although like everyone alive. I haven’t managed to avoid seeing my share of superhero films. Absurdist humor? Again, not my thing. TJ Klune, for example, is a tremendous author, but I don’t like his “Lightning-Struck Heart“ series, because they’re just so over the top. I find them tiresome. Larger than life, one dimensional characters? Definitely not my thing.

But I was desperate, because none of my favorite authors had put anything out in a while, so I downloaded this. And ok, wow…

First of all, I love the way this book plays with superhero tropes. Don’t get me wrong. It’s definitely a superhero story, but it pokes fun at itself which makes it digestible. The slightly over the top humor is funny because it’s often meta-humor, and not going for the cheap laugh. And the characters are not as one-dimensional as I anticipated. I mean, there are a few good old-fashioned comic universe villains and heroes but the characters who matter to the story have depth and aren’t always predictable.

Try it. You may be as pleasantly surprised as I was. I hope the rest of the series comes to Audible and are equally as engaging.

Super Awesome

A superhero and a supervillian drawn to each other, what a super awesome concept. I freaking loved this story! It was funny, full of action, and HOT, everything you'd want in a story like this. Great writing, characters, and world building and spot on narration. Definitely recommend!

This book had no right to be this FUN!

Super heroes, villains, lots of laughs and spice. If you are on the fence about this one go ahead and grab it! You won’t regret it.

Tedious 11 hours

In lieu of any significant story, you get chronically repetitive gratuitous xxx gay porn that includes variations of how many ways to eat, swallow, lap up …you know the rest. I’m guessing that the author wrote this story during a crystal meth orgy.
Truly tasteless ( no pun intended) and just plain stupid. The reviews I read were at 2 months, filled with
praise and little originality making me suspect that they were generated ‘en masse.

The Villains Hero Story I didn't know I needed

I have a new favorite series! I'll be reading the rest of the books, but I have things to get done and need the audio versions so I can keep going without stopping. I am so glad someone gave me more of the dirty side of heroes and the not so evil side of villainy. The narrations were perfect and I got through this book faster than I had planned because their voices made the words even better.

Favorite come to life

I love the fact that my absolute favorite book from C Rochelle was brought to life and oh my gosh the way I absolutely ADORED it.
I loved both narrators and now whenever I read the physical book, I will have voices to go with the words.

Entering and steamy!

I really loved this MM Romance. It’s different from anything you’ll listen too. The narrators were AWESOME and the story line was creative and captivating. If superheroes were real, this would be believable. 10/10 I highly recommend this book. I will be listening again. I can’t wait for the audio to be released for the other books in the series.
