Story
Jane Gallows isn’t much of a witch. Her spells only work when she has a mouthful of chocolate, which can be downright awkward at times. That’s why she makes her living as a private investigator. Of course, being a P.I. has its difficulties too, not the least of which is her lazy, sarcastic cat who insists he’s the brains behind her sleuthing skills and the ghost of a 1940s gumshoe that haunts her office and wants in on the case-solving action. When old-timer Bud Saunders hires her to get rid of a ghost in his barn, she figures it will be a piece of cake.

Darcy was 24, living with her parents, and struggling to make her student loan payments. So, when she heard that Grace Space Independent Consultants make $40 per hour, she could hardly wait to sign on the dotted line. That signature launched her into a crazy adventure full of embarrassing blunders, kooky characters, and sidesplitting laughs, and it's not long before she starts to wonder if the purple dream is too good to be true.
Summary
Why did someone kill Olive Pendleton and hide her body?
When bakery owner Lexy Baker and her posse of iPad-toting grandmas witness a murder remotely through the camera of a drone, they go straight to Lexy's homicide detective husband, Jack, to report the crime. But with no body and no crime reported, Jack can't do a thing, leaving Lexy and her grandmother no alternative than to solve the murder themselves.
Armed with nothing but their gigantic patent leather purses and a dogged determination to see justice done, the ladies dodge a pack of overzealous Pekeapoos, nosey neighbors, and an ornery husband in order to flush out Olive's killer before he kills again.

Badly done from the start
If five people tell the police they have witnessed a murder, the police would, at the very least, send someone to to scene to investigate.
Given the particular policeman in question is married to one of the witnesses, and given the group as a whole have a proven track-record of helping the police solve murders, he'd have no reason to question their report of what they witnessed.
But, even if they were complete strangers to the police, there is no way the police would sit back refuse to look into the matter unless they got a call from someone at the scene to report the murder because the witnesses don't have any evidence on them!
It just doesn't make sense!

Love the little old ladies crime club!
I listened to this book and enjoyed it. Narrator is good, a good book can be destroyed by a bad narrator! The little old ladies in the crime club each has a different personality. The one who lost her drone is my favorite. Lexie, the main character, is very patient with the little old ladies. It is a pleasure to read a book that doesn't have foul language or descriptions of sex acts. I didn't figure out who the killer was until the author revealed who was guilty. Will read or listen to more by this writer.
