Summary

Opposites attract?
In theory, maybe.
In reality, doubtful.

When my brother’s best friend asks me to fake marry him to secure a business deal he desperately needs, I laugh in his face. Me, help Carter Harrington? That’s split-your-pants, rip-roaring hilarious. I don’t even like him.

Besides, no one would believe I’m Carter’s wife. It’s ridiculous.

He’s tall, blond, and attention-grabbing gorgeous. I’m short, curvy, awkward…and usually invisible.
He’s never met someone he couldn’t charm. I can barely talk to friends, much less strangers.
He’s a workaholic that lives and breathes money and business. I prefer to lose myself in my art.

Believability factor of us as a couple? Zero.

But when he puts his hand on my thigh, pulls me to his side possessively, and whispers dirty things in my ear that make me go liquid, all the reasons why we shouldn’t be together start to fade away.

And when we’re forced to share a bed to keep up the charade, this fake marriage begins to feel real.

Dangerously real.

What's a girl to do when the man she can't stand starts to feel like her husband?

Never Marry Your Brother's Best Friend is a full-length romance with a happily ever after. It can be listened to as a standalone.

Love this story!

It is so easy to fall into a Lauren Landish story! I was looking forward to starting this, and when I did, I could not stop listening! It was nonstop for me and I loved it! Luna works in the art world. Giving kids tours and answering questions is fun, but she has more she is striving for. With her extensive knowledge of art, Carter, her brother's best friend needs some help. School him so he can win over a huge account and impress his father. He can't retain it, so pretending to be his fiance in return for seeing an exclusive art collection seems like a fair trade. But what happens next changes their lives. This is a funny, romantic story exploring self confidence and self worth right along with finding love. These two are a push pull of fun, with witty banter, big dreams and an understanding of their future hopes. I loved their journey, the characters(especially Elaina, what a hoot she is!) and recommend this to anyone who loves a happy ending!

Carly Robins and Lee Samuels are so good together, it's hard to remember that it's a book not a movie in my mind! I love both of these narrators. They understand their characters, have amazing timing both dramatic and comedic and make this story come to life. I enjoyed their performance.

You um… lost me with this one.

I have a lot of opinions about this story and there may be some spoilers in this review if you don’t want that don’t read this.
Let me start with Luna. She damn near hates Carter. In the beginning she is openly hostile and rude to him and I kept thinking there must be a reason. Since there was no reason given (not until chapter 20) it really just sounds like she’s judging him off of stereo types alone. Luna makes several comments about him being a sleazy business man and that he’s influencing her brother in a negative way. In chapter 20 she starts telling her brother the story of why she hates Carter, turns out it was a misunderstanding and that she formed an opinion and a hatred of carter after overhearing one conversation. It’s very childish and judgmental. Also she brought up the story and her brother Zack interrupts her to clear up the misunderstanding. But I honestly don’t understand what point she was trying to make by telling the story in the first place, it was meaningless and didn’t really serve much purpose at this point in the story. Also if theres a such thing as toxic masculinity Luna proves theres a such thing as toxic femininity. (I don’t want to offend anyone so I won’t dig too deep into that comment but you may understand what I mean when you listen to this book) I also found it ridiculous that she was being so judgmental about what Carter was trying to do yet charged him $500 an hour to tutor him in art. Then when the plan changed she was all huffy and puffy about not helping him “scam some poor old lady” but the minute she was offered something that would benefit her she was all in. Just thinking that Elaina was going to be this sad and easily manipulated old lady without meeting her was super judgmental as well. As a hardcore feminist you would think Luna would know that Elaina being an older woman wouldn’t mean she can’t do business with the best of them. Last thing I’ll say about Luna. She irked me when she got mad and stormed out after the way Carter reacted to taking her virginity. Like FIRST of all you tell him this while he is going soft inside of you. No Shit, he’s gonna freak out. Girl take a chill pill and just reassure him. Or is it just me who doesn’t get why she was so upset? And when she told her friend Samantha about it she didn’t even tell the whole story which is unfair to Carter.

Ok on to Carter. I don’t have a whole lot to say about him. He started out ok, if not a little childish with his scheming and with that proposal. That whole thing seemed a little frat boyish or like he was doing it for clout or something. But then he started to piss me off with the dinner. Like how manipulative to just spring a wife on your family without letting them in on it first, and then just expecting them to go along with it. If I were his Mama I would’ve smacked the Sh*t outta him and made him apologize to Elaina right then and there. He wants to act like a child I’d treat him like one. I hated the fact that he didnt think anything through and the lie kept getting deeper and deeper. When he went to ask Luna to marry him for real to turn their lie into a truth, I was furious that he wouldn’t take her no for an answer and then used sex to manipulate her into saying yes. All while knowing he had literally taken her virginity the night before. That was truly Fu*ked up. She was dumb for giving in and so was he. I kept going to see if she would tell him off cuz by this point he needed his a*s beat, but no she just goes along with it. And I really had to stop when Zack agreed to be his best man by this point I’ve deemed these people as trash.
I like Lauren Landish she has some hits and misses I can’t fault her for that but she lost me with this one. I don’t see the appeal for these characters.

Good Narration

This was ok. Some very likable characters and steamy love scenes but the story was a little drawn out. Narration was very good.

Drug on forever

Narration was good. Story could have been half as long, found myself fast forwarding just to get through it.
