Summary

Finance isn't detective Nick Waite’s strong suit, but he’s learning fast as he investigates the cover-up of a murder inside Neo Babylon’s oldest bank.

The winds of conspiracy whirl around him, and everyone from the police commissioner to gang lords warn him to step back.

Taking the easy way out isn’t in his nature, however. He’s gotten where he is by being stubborn and a chance to knock a corrupt bank down a peg is too good to pass up.

But all isn’t well with his partners, the police’s elite Archangels. A new prototype model is about to be deployed, and she has her own views on humanity to force on her brethren. Nick feels more like an AI whisperer than a detective some days.

Through it all, the city continues to smolder like a powder keg ready to blow. This case will determine more than the fate of a few banking executives.

Finaly a good one

This is a good one folks. In the oceans of trash and copy paste stories we got ourselves a decent detective with an interesting plot. The world is interesting. But not fully developed yet. There are few characters but all of them are done well.

Performance is excellent. If you know the narrator from previous works - you know that there are few narrators like her. Narrators who can make every character sound and feel different without the need for a cheep Scottish Australian or Irish accent.
The plot is interesting to say the least and the ending is satisfying.
The only issue I have is with the dolls. . . female military dolls? Not a single male terminator on the horizon to be seen. How do you pack so much technology in to a female, humanoid frame? Technology does not make sense.
But this is supposed to be a "harem" novel. And this story is wasted on this narrative.
If you can look past few sci-fi elements that doses not make sense - you will probably enjoy this story.

another great thriller

KD does it again. a wonderful exploration of a dystopian future where the machines haven't taken over but you almost wish they would, considering how awful the humans are!

this one explores a bank conspiracy, a murder and the increasing complexity of the ai's that the protagonist Nick deals with - the robots showing empathy and complexity versus the narrow mindedness and short sightedness of the corporate "masters". a great story that keeps building on the world of New Babylon.

Brilliant Sequel

K.D. Robertson and Stephanie Savannah are the ultimate combination.

Neural Wraith 2 is even better than the first book and Nick and the Arc Angels return in another who done it mystery.

Brilliantly written, immersive world and hope we get many more books in this series.

Excellent performance

Really enjoyable performance by Stephanie bringing the characters to life once again. Layered audio or other effects are added on character voices when needed by the story, as it's only used a few times the effect doesn't feel over used.
