She swears she'll heal by morning, or I can take her to the hospital. Here's the craziest part: Magic knits her wound closed. When I plead for her to tell me what happened, I wished I never opened my mouth.

minor spoilers ahead and I haven't finished the book so far but I just have to point this out incase anyone else hates stupid main characters the main girl has basicly popped up out of nowhere and ruined this guys life murdered a few people talked down to him and ran off then the government rocks up and does the usual black site stuff before throwing him into a portal to fantasy land, now based on the title they are going to meet up and get together but there is no way an actual thinking person would have anything but resentment for the girl there is no level of attractiveness that makes up for separating you from everything you know and love while also getting tortured
