Summary

Narration by Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke.

Darling Arrow,

I shouldn’t be writing this.

It’s not as if I’m ever going to send you this letter, and there are a million reasons why.

First of all, I was sent to this reform school as a punishment for a petty, totally inconsequential crime. Not to ogle the principal’s hot son around the campus.

Second of all, you’re a giant jerk. You’re arrogant and moody and so cold. Sometimes, I think I shouldn’t even like you.

But strangely, your coldness sets me on fire.

The way your athletic body moves on the soccer field and the way your powerful thighs sprawl across that motorcycle of yours make me go inappropriately breathless.

But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that you, Arrow Carlisle, are not only the principal’s hot son. You also happen to be the love of my sister’s life.

And I really shouldn’t be thinking about my sister’s boyfriend or rather fiancé (I overheard a conversation about the ring that I shouldn’t have).

Now, if I can only stop writing you these meaningless letters that I’ll never send, and you’ll never read.

Never yours,

Salem

Forbidden love

This is a good storyline with lots of emotions. Falling for your sisters boyfriend is always going to end badly. With so much on the line do these characters hide their feelings or wear them with pride?
A brilliant performance.

grad A ahole

omg when Salem calls Arrow an Ahole I 100% agree with her , he really was and it bugged me a lot but what bugged me more is how despite it all she still kept fawning over him, luckily she does eventually stick up for herself and he realises he needs to stop being an ahole otherwise I'd have felt like kicking them both lol , the narrators were amazing at bringing these characters to life and getting their personalities through which really made the book (imo) what it is, im looking forward to listening to the rest of the series and seeing where things go with each of Salems friends
I do absolutely recommend this book and if you love an ahole you will LOVE this book

Another good book

This was another good book by Saffron A Kent. Jason Clarke and Sarah Pucket narrated brilliantly.

Arrow & Salem

3.5 stars
Jeez! Arrow was such an @r$$h0le d1ck, sometimes. I really wondered how Salem put up with his awful personality. Of course towards the end all is understood but I struggled to keep listening…Nothing against Sarah Puckett’s or Jason Clarke’s narration, they were amazing, but Arrow as a character left a lot to be desired. I’m still annoyed with him for the things he said to Salem all throughout the book.

Bullseye!

In the mood for a forbidden romance? Saffron A Kent is a go to author. This story revolves around Arrow and Salem. Looking at Arrow from the outside, you would think he has the perfect life. He is a fantastic soccer player, now playing for the pros, and has a wonderful girlfriend. His girlfriend's sister has had a crush on him for years. Insecure and a little shy, she loves him from afar. Now times are changing. Both end up at St Mary's their story really begins. Arrow's arrogance and anger is shining through with a vengeance, and he can't keep away from Salem. Salem is much stronger, showing her feelings more openly. But what is really holding them back? Is it Arrow? What are his secrets? Is it Salem? Is she too young and clingy? Kent is a master at weaving the story. She lets us slowly learn of their history and what has brought them to this place. I became transfixed as I listened needing to learn what would happen next, And the letters, oh the letters! They are the most romantic part of the story. This love story is full of all the things that push my buttons! Boarding school and the friends they make, soccer which is the sport of choice in my house, loving your sister's boyfriend and falling for your coach! A few taboos to keep me entertained and a love story which is absolutely beautiful. My Darling Arrow hits the bullseye!

Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke score a goal with their narration. I love these two narrators and I knew I was going to love this performance. Puckett is so good at the new adult angst. She builds up her characters with emotionally heart tugs and makes me love each one. As Salem, we got to hear her transform from young and insecure to adult and confident. Clarke plays the arrogant, broody Arrow with attitude. I loved it! He does it so well, then turns to the broken Arrow with ease. These two give us all the feels and heart tugs making us fall for Salem and Arrow. It's a performance you will want to hear!

My Thoughts on My Darling Arrow

Once again, I’m so angry it took me so long to try this author. I think I was worried it would be too angsty for me. But it’s actually the perfect amount of angst to keep me fully engaged and feeling and invested in the amazing story that was unfolding.
Salem and Arrow were such an interesting couple. I was worried I’d be too put off by the whole sister aspect, but this author wrote it beautifully. It was so well done I was absolutely rooting for Salem and Arrow and did not feel an ounce of bad for Sarah, the sister. And in my opinion, once you experience this story and see who Salem is and what she’s all about you’ll understand. Not to mention Sarah makes you feel a certain kind of way about her all on her own.
Arrow was another well layered leading man. He was painted as one thing in the beginning, but his layers were slowly uncovered and he became more and more likable as they were. Not to say I didn’t like him in the beginning. But he was painted as perfect and kind of one dimensional and that wasn’t him at all. Salem coming back into his life really kick started the process of his layers being peeled back though.
The narration of this story was amazing. Sarah Puckett and Jason Clarke both knocked it out of the park. I found myself enjoying every second of both of their performances. The only thing that could have possibly made it better was if the story could have been told in duet narration style but that’s purely a personal preference.

Fantastic!

My Darling Arrow is the story of one woman’s unrequited love for her sister’s boyfriend. The words flow beautifully in this often heartbreaking and emotional storyline that’s filled with depth and feeling. Arrow and Salem are fantastic characters and sparks fly whenever they’re together. As the story unfolds we get to see their complexities as their relationship grows. Saffron A Kent is an exceptional writer who gets to the very soul of her characters. The narrators are fantastic and I highly recommend it!

Age gap taboo romance.

Salem and Arrow manage to tick just about every box in the taboo and angst checklist.

Forbidden

I loved Salems friend group and will definitely read/listen to more of the girls stories. It did take me a little while to get over Arrow being her sisters ex-boyfriend but watching him realise whats been in front of him the whole time is so worth it.

The romance was well balanced between sweet and steamy. Both main characters go through some major growth throughout the book and I hope we get to check in with Salem again in future books.

There's little bits of humour and banter dashed throughout. A heavy amount of heartbreak and angst. Plus a good level of possessive dirty talk.

Beautifully Sweet 💕

When I started this book I really didn't know where it could go... The synopsis had pretty much given no hope... Boy, I was wrong!!
I felt Salam's raw and slightly naive emotions as much as I totalling fell in love with the broken and beautiful Arrow!
The build, the back and forth, and the hint of forbidden made for one hell of a story! I really didn’t want this book to come to an end.. But knowing there are more in this series.... I CAN'T WAIT!!
The performance was 100% perfection 🥰 LOVE LOVE LOVE... 💕🖤🎧

Sweet & Forbidden

Salem was such a wonderful character, she was messy and wild and broke the rules. But she’s also beauty and grace, she’s sunshine & I absolutely loved her strength. The romance was so good, it was filled with passion and angst and so much longing. I loved how they made each other feel and made each other better.
