Well done!
Murder at Honeychurch Hall was very enjoyable listening! It was much better than I anticipated. I usually listen while driving or walking, and found myself listening to this story in the evening, etc. I look forward to listening to more books by this author!

Surprisingly Good
This is my first book by Hannah Dennison. It was enjoyable with well developed characters. The only thing I didn't like was that it seemed to drag a bit towards the end. I look forward to the next book.

Mismatched narrator
This series is well-written, the stories are entertaining and the mysteries are complicated enough to keep me interested. The narrator however was poorly chosen. Because of her child- like voice, the main character, who is confident, intelligent and independent comes off as much less than she is. Her mother comes off as an idiot. The voice used for Mom is high, petulant and highly irritating. In another type of book, perhaps a comedy or Oscar Wilde-type satire Elaine Wise would be an excellent narrator. She’s completely wrong for this series.

Narration was difficult to listen to.
The story line was ok, however the narrator seemed to be yelling through much of the book. Made it very distracting to follow the story and took away from enjoying the book.

Really good storyline.
It wasn’t easy to put this story down. The characters were interesting and the descriptions of the area were very good. The ending surprised me on several levels. Good and not so good.

Narrator is wonderful.
All right, I'm not finished listening but I was nearly put off by the bad reviews of the narrator. I think this reading is brilliant. I did have a time listening to the first chapter because I kept laughing but, to be honest, the characters sound...well, British. I've done five trips, so far, to England and, just like the good old USA, they have a variety of ways of expressing themselves, not to mention a variety of accents. This isn't Poirot and not meant to be. This is a pure delight, combining mystery with humor. In fact, it reminds me of All Creatures Great and Small, a book that captured the endearing character and characters of the region. I am loving the story so much, the absurdity of life, frankly, I don't even care where it goes from here. The journey itself is a pure delight. Just as an aside, anti-virus makes writing such a challenge. If one doesn't edit no telling what it will say.. I am leaving in its last correction. Auto-correct and anti-virus should not be the same. On second thought...

Good local site and interesting history
If you enjoy books set in rural British places, this little story is entertaining. The heroine is a bit beyond innocent, naive heroine, but her mom is interesting.

Narrator's voice gives me a headache
Could not continue listing to this story due to high pitched tone and whining of the narrator.

I just can't finish listening to this book
I wanted to try new writers in the mystery genre that don't rely on gory, evil elements of shooting and knifing people. I did read the reviews and saw that some reviews had not-so-encouraging remarks about the voice of the narrator. But I am not very circumspect, so I selected the book based upon the description on the story's premise.
Shrill, high pitched, rapid staccato, and over the top enunciation are four of the best descriptions I can give for the narrator's voice. Perhaps the sound engineering settings could have been adjusted during the recording. It could have been the director's instructions to the narrator. Listener put offs in my opinion.
After two chapters, I called it quits. I might have found actually reading the book myself a better method of sampling this writer's work.
