Dark and twisty thriller

A different and original story.
A bit slow to start with but the story gathers pace and has lots of twists and turns. I found the pace ebbed and flowed and it was a bit repetitive at times but it is a 'page turner'. I didn't particularly like the characters but I did have some empathy with the protagonists and wanted peace and a kind of justice for them. Did I find it?
There are definitely dark moments in the book as it delves into the deep underworld of things we don't want to know about. There are also some dark moments sexually which are a bit disturbing. Still, I found myself wanting to get to the end to see what happens.
A bit of a mixed bag for me but if you like twisty thrillers this is for you.

Great thriller

Good characters, violent, dark humour. Lots of twists, cliff hanging moments. Would recommend and will look out for more by this author

Excellent narration

Susan Ericksen is an excellent narrator, so much so, I started to look for audible books narrated by her instead of looking via the author!

A mixed bag

I thought it started off alright but I really disliked the main female character. The twisted sexual scenes, one minute she really wanted him and was throwing herself at him, then she was crying and couldn't get away fast enough, then she was annoyed because he didn't acknowledge it.
Then they went to Northern Ireland and I thought "oh no"....I was right. The writer described it like we were back in the 70's and the Northern Irish accent was awful.
Will give the author a wide berth.

Boiled Sprat meets Tall Story Teller

Tiresome spoilt daughter of dead spook seeks answers from an Irish prodigee hit man.

"Smart" MCs do unsmart things throughout, The clue this will be a dappy romance is the children's storybook voice of the narrator. Had to speed the narration up to 1.1 to add pace to this "thriller". The flashbacks from her aged 7, in the now of the story line when he want to consumate, is just confusing. The barely there paragraphs breaks is also confusing.

A dull product of the time it was written. Gave up with 3 hrs to go.

DISAPPOINTING
