Summary

The Monster Girl Defense Force is really good at their job. They've carved out a small niche in an otherwise desolate and harsh world, and for the moment, all seems well.

But trouble is on the horizon, and to stop it, they'll need something they haven't had in a long time.

A man.

phhhttttt!

I have enjoyed other books by this author but this one does not cut it. it flows like mud. all characters are weak. the mc is extremely forgetable. the limeable characters are terrible. do not waste your time. I got within 4 hours of finishing and just couldn't. the narrator did a good job but. material is lacking.

Alot better then I thought.

I downloaded this book assuming it would be bad.
I was surprised when I actually liked the story.
Enough I'll download the next.
Only negative parts are the XXX scenes progressively get more and more cringy do to bad writing. But excluding that. the story is great, happy ending with enough questions left hanging to want more.

Fun little story

I will say I did enjoy this book overall. I did become invested in the characters. Everything flowed smoothly except 1 thing. It's the year 2099 and only a short time since the fall of modern civilization due to the zombie apoc, but all modern convienances are gone. People live in castles with no electricity and fight with swords and spears. Guns would still be a great way to kill the zombies. A head shot is a head shot, be it by sword or gun. There wasn't a good explanation for that, but otherwise it's a fun story and I have purchased the 2nd in the series and listening to iut now. :)

The end is less than the best.

Thought the ending is less then the best the book itself is a well made masterpiece. The last hour is a bit off.

Really good

Really liked the story but since it appears to be a 1 book story a lot felt rushed and i liked the romance between the queen and the mc. i hope there is more s8mce i want the mc to romance the rest of the council

whole book is meh.

Cover art and description is a bit misleading.

What does the world need? A man. But nothing about the character is because it was a man.
What was a queen's all woman supernatural council really need? A man? No, only a poor human adding seemingly obvious perspective.

The spicy bits? They set the scene and fade to black.

The writing is simple and tries to carry weight but fails. It is predictable except for when it's awkward.

I'm not even sure what a "calculative" tone sounds like but that comes up a couple times.

Mrs. Leblang narration was ok but her delivery didn't really change from scene. Character X whispered but sounded like a normal conversation. I had to speed up the narration just get thru the book.

I highly doubt I'll buy a sequel.
