A Brilliantly Gripping Romantic Suspense🎧📚🎧
I loved everything about this audiobook, from Kennedy L. Mitchell wonderful writing style to the characters and storylines she created to the fabulous narration performed by Teddy Hamilton and Kelsey Navarro. This book is the second in the Protection series and it is just as awesome and captivating as the first book, “Mine to Protect”. Both books stand on their own and I highly recommend them. I liked FBI profiler Chandler Peters in the first book and wanted to learn more about it so I was happy to hear he was getting his own book. A serial killer is on the loose in Texas and he gets assigned to case assisting Texas Ranger Alec Bronson. The locals are not very fond of the feds and Alec warns him that it is best to be discreet. One of the local girls catches his eye and the more he gets to know her to more he realizes she fills in pieces of his broken self. Ellie may escaped living in a cult, one of the locals saved her but she has not be able to really live. Working several jobs to make ends meet and making the best of her situation she knows that is all it is going to be for her. Her past keeps trying to get her to back, even her parents but she wants none of it. Because of her history and connection with the cult compound Alec and Chandler ask for her help with the case and she does so with limitations, she does not want to return there. Chandler and Ellie hit it off, not only do they get each other but they have things in common. I loved these two together and for each other. But the closer they grow the closer the serial killer gets. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, twists and turns, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. Kennedy L. Mitchell, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride, I loved the ending and how you kept me guessing.
🎧📚🎧 Teddy Hamilton and Kelsey Navarro are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They do a fabulous job portraying each character, giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. They have a complete understanding of each role they play then take each role and make it their own, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. Teddy Hamilton’s Chandler is spot and Kelsey nails it as Ellie, both were awesome playing the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

Heart-pounding and Steamy Romance!
This is an absolutely spellbinding, suspenseful, and steamy romance that kept me in it's grasp from start to finish. I loved how Ms. Mitchell drew me in with a unique tale that was mysterious, funny, sizzling, and at some points horrifying. Each facet of this story was cleverly unfolded to keep you listening and trying to discover what would happen next. FBI profiler Chandler Peters has been brought in to a small town in Texas to help find a serial killer. Ellie is a smart and hardworking waitress who is able to help him with the case. Chandler and Ellie are attracted to each other right from the start. They have a connection that they soon discover is related to both their pasts. When the case begins to center around Ellie, it becomes a race against time to catch the murderer before he strikes again. This is a fast-paced, exhilarating story that was so compelling, I was always trying to predict what is going to happen next and the twists and turns kept me guessing, which I love. Chandler and Ellie are wonderfully flawed characters that are perfect for each other. They understand each others pasts like no one else can, and they have sizzling chemistry.
I really enjoyed Teddy Hamilton, and Kelsey Navarro's narration as they delivered all the emotion, wit, suspense, and sizzling passion. I was totally lost in their performance as they brought these characters and heart-pounding story to life.

Pretty high marks for this book
This was super enjoyable. I won the book in a contest and I have to say, I need to go purchase the first book because I loved this one. He held me on, I loved the plot and Teddy slayed the narration. Kelsey did good, she just, sometimes, gets this bored tone to her narration. It didn’t take away from the story maybe I just wanted more astonishment in certain parts of the story because Ellie was suppose to be so sheltered from living with the cult and in the tiny town for so long.

Full of action, suspense and surprises!
Yikes! I enjoyed listening to this creepy yet enthralling listen. I really LOVE this authors stories. Her bad guys…they are over the top BAD..the things they do just makes my skin crawl and my ears shiver. The good guys..are still a little bad but its for all the right reasons. The females are all smart, strong and are unique.
Overall I love listening to this authors stories. They are mind boggling and I am always on edge trying to figure out who the killer is and I am always surprised when My guesses are wrong. I look forward to the next in this series! Especially after listening to the sample!! The narrators do a great job in here as well!

I LOVE IT!
I picked this up on a whim, just looking for something to read. I am BLOWN AWAY! It's been a long time since I read a book that kept me so happy and engaged.
The characters are flawless, the development seamless, the romance mesmerizing, the humor engaging, the mystery captivating, the ending incredible! I can't even express how good of a read this is. Don't think, just grab it!
It's cute, it's quirky, it's beautiful. The narration is perfect, these voice actors are awesome! I'm so pleased and will definitely read again! I even followed the author and am so excited to read a few other novels from her.
I love it!
P.S. If you're looking for a smut novel with no clear storyline (like most of the books I've been recommended on Audible) this is NOT IT! This is a really great novel for story alone. It's not about the sex, it's about the character development. I love it.

Nice story that will remind you of Criminal Minds 😃
This was a new author to me. I got the book during one of those huge audible sales and I’m glad I got it…
The story is about Ellie, who “escaped” some religious cult in TX and stayed in the same town…. Murder kept happening and a profiler was called, enter FBI agent Chandler Peters. It was sort of love/lust at first sight but Ellie didn’t know what that is being raised in a cult and all…
She help them come with a profile and this is the middle of the story… good… at times it felt like an episode of criminal minds… no complaints here…
The only problem I had was baking the female protagonist even younger 🙄 why? The events could still have happened the same without shaving 5 years off… I was just so disappointed… the unnatural attachment to women under 24. In this genre by women is really concerning… I am drawn to the next book the woman seems older, we will see… it is nice to read when a woman is at least above 26….more believable… but to think the whole book someone is 28 appreciating that face and then… UGH! There was no reason for that other than making chandler a weirdo a bit yuck… I liked him too…
Worth a credit? Yes… if you can overlook that fact…

Dark psychological suspense with erotic romance
Like the first book on the series, this deals with a dark suspense plot and emotionally scarred people finding love and healing. Narration was excellent

A bit too much
While I don’t generally mind bdsm type stuff, I don’t really care for it, I found this book a little creepy. I just don’t think it’s great to have a female character who had been sexually abused at length needing to continue elements of that abuse to have fulfilling sex. Ew.

Excellent!

I could not stop listening to this book. I was hooked from the very beginning until the last page....
Be ready for so much suspense and a lot of steam!!
