About this listen
Kaely Quinn's talents as an FBI behavior analyst are impossible to ignore, no matter how unorthodox her methods. But when a reporter outs her as the daughter of an infamous serial killer, she's demoted to field agent and transferred to St. Louis.
When the same reporter who ruined her career claims to have received an anonymous poem predicting a string of murders, ending with Kaely's, the reporter's ulterior motives bring his claim into question. But when a body is found that fits the poem's predictions, the threat is undeniable, and the FBI sends Special Agent Noah Hunter to St. Louis.
Initially resentful of the assignment, Noah is surprised at how quickly his respect for Kaely grows, despite her oddities. But with a brazen serial killer who breaks all the normal patterns on the loose, Noah and Kaely are tested to their limits to catch the murderer before anyone else - including Kaely herself - is killed.

Disappointed
I didn't enjoy this download, The story sounded so promising, so I was disappointed. The writing seemed simplistic, Over use of the word 'unsub'. I didn't much care for the goody2shoes characters. I did not enjoy the God lectures, which sounded more like the author with an agenda, than the character. One of the male leads went from never falling in love again after his wife's death to falling in love with the lead character in about 5 pages. yawn. Revelation of the 'unsub' more, "well that seems unlikely" than a twist.

Not sure about this one
The story was based around an FBI profiler who had a strange background - that of being the child of a serial killer.
She also has strange methods of deducing profiles, which included talking to people who are not there.
Alongside this is the storyline of her previous partner who move jobs because he had fallen in love with her.
Some very odd points in the storyline but I wanted to get to the end - hence 4*.

Decent story
This was a good listen with plenty going on and likeable characters. Excellent narration. Marked down due to all the unnecessary god bothering which added nothing to the story and felt a bit like a recruitment drive. Made me cringe.

Spoiled by Christian proselytism.
I didn't get more than half way through. The book should have been described as Christian literature, it was very preachy.
Shame, as it could have been good. I respect all religions, but I don't want to feel like I'm being bashed over the head with a bible when listening to a secular (or so I thought) book.

Truly awful. So much potential wasted.
The story started off strong and engaging but a quarter of the way through it became so cringy I physically tensed at the dialogue.
The writer didn’t seem to know what direction the story should go and made the female character Kayleigh personality change from a strong woman to a bizarre woman.
Also the religious parts were hammered into the storyline with no finesse and seemed forced.
I’ll never read one of this author’s books again and I hope you don’t either.

distracted by the overbearing religious message
nothing in the description indicated that this would have a strong Christian message. at one point the protagonist claims that her faith is what makes her better at her job (serial killer profiler) than people with no faith because 'i have support whereas other people just have themselves'. absolute codswallop. it really distracted from what could've been an interesting book.
