Summary

Will he help find her sister's killer...or lead the killer to her door?

When FBI Agent Kaitlyn Knight discovers her brother-in-law is Vyper - the notorious cyber-criminal and murderer wanted by the FBI - Kait doesn't question her duty to arrest him. But when he murders her sister in front of her, leaving her infant niece motherless, Kait vows to hunt him down and bring him to justice while raising the baby.

Three years later, and not even a whisper of a lead in her search, Kait is about to give up hope of ever finding Vyper. All of that changes when he goes on a murderous spree taunting Kait with clues that she and homicide detective Sam Murdock must solve before her devious brother-in-law takes another life.

As the body count rises, Sam discovers the killing spree is really about striking back at Kait. He must put everything on the line - including the relationship he's developed with Kait - to ensure her safety. The killer is waiting, watching her every move, and he won't stop until he's exacted his revenge and reclaims his rights to raise his daughter.

Review

This is such a good book I really enjoyed it. Right from the beginning it held my attention and the drama never flagged. It kept my interest all the way through. It is an exciting murder mystery with a touch of romance and it kept me guessing. The narrator is excellent I can't fault him, he enhanced my enjoyment of the story with his performance.

Too Much Barbie and Ken

Her plots are interesting, and I appreciate that the book is fairly clean, although there is really corny innuendo that is sickening and cliched. I've read a few of her books, and in all of them when the main female character chews on her bottom lip, the result is the same - the main male character starts to get turned on. There are borderline descriptions of them having sexual fantasies for each other. They are always gorgeous perfect looking people, kind of like Barbie and Ken. Lines are overused and repeated across her books to describe such as the guy wanting to tuck the stray hair behind her ear, she chews on her bottom lip etc. It is really bad in the romance area, very unrealistic and no originality. I've read a few of her books and this review applies to all of them. I only enjoy the plots, and the fact that there's no graphic sex scenes although the romantic scenes are somewhat nauseating after a while.

Jack Wayne was good with the delivery of the story

Suspenseful Romance At Its Best!!!

I could not stop listening to Web of Deceit. The characters are relatable and I quickly became invested wanting to know more. The story is fast passed and keeps you engaged from start to finish. Jack Wayne is an awesome narrator! His distinct character voices allow the listener to easily follow the story. I am looking forward to reading more in the Agents Under Fire Series.

A Great Listen

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. I found it very entertaining. All the main characters are broken by their pasts, and struggle through many challenges as the plot develops, continuing to built suspense until the end. The characters are well written and intriguing. This fast paced tale is hard to turn off. I found myself listening to it longer than I intended.

filled with mystery and intrigue

Even the smartest of criminals should know, you never mess with family!  Vyper also known as Fenton, a cyber-criminal, and brother-in-law, to Kaitlyn Knight (FBI) commits the most atrocious crime ever – he kills his wife and twin of Kaitlyn – he becomes her sole focus in the world.  Kaitlyn assumes the care of her sister’s infant child, Lilly after her death and her father’s disappearance.

Kaitlyn never breaks her promises and when she promised to bring Fenton to justice for the murder of her sister, that is what she sets out to do.  For three long years she has hunted, now Fenton has returned with his own sick agenda.  For Kaitlyn, everything she loves and knows is in danger because of Fenton’s revenge.  Fenton blames Kaitlyn for his wife’s death and his daughter being taken from him.  Revenge is his motive.  Who will come out on top and at what expense?

A well-constructed suspense story filled with mystery and intrigue.  Well written, Susan Sleeman, author, creates a world that is focused on family, justice, and relationships filled with twists and turns.  Her characters were well-developed and realistic. The conversations were well scripted also.  The relationships and situations were well thought out and executed.

I enjoyed listening to Web of Deceit for several reasons – it was well done, well written, creative and clean.  It’s bad enough having to read the gratuitous sex scenes let alone listen to them!  So this was a major plus for me.

Narrator, Jack Wayne performed the audiobook expertly bringing the story to life.  Each character had a distinctive voice and attitude.  I thought Wayne did an excellent job of bringing the suspense to a tangible level.  I enjoyed his voice and performance.

Mystery and thriller listeners will enjoy this book immensely.

Great Thriller!

Kate is an FBI agent and tech nerd. She's working on a team to find her estranged brother-in-law and sister's killer Fenton Rhodes and has custody of her niece Lilly.

I really like Kate, even though an FBI agent she isn't the girl who works in the field but behind the scenes with a computer so when faced with life-endangering situations she has to stop and think what should she do. She's also not the maternal type but loves and protects her niece with everything she has.

There's a little romance thing going between her and Sam, an officer who is the work in the field kind of guy. Together they're a great pair and there's just enough romantic play to be fun but not enough to slow or take away from the story.

The plot is intriguing, suspenseful and realistic. It's an exciting mystery. thriller!

I received this book free and this is my honest review.

Intriguing Suspense

This was my first by the author but I absolutely enjoyed it. Loved the characters especially Sam and Kate, it is a thrilling murder mystery involving cop, FBI and computer hacker that has a lot of twists and only a little romance. Recommend to anyone who enjoys intriguing suspense. Good narration. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank You!

Suspenseful romance

Cyber crimes, gruesome murders, an FBI agent and a detective on the hunt for justice.
Heartbroken, Kaitlyn's brother-in-law, Fenton, blames the death of his wife, Abby on her. Trying to keep her niece safe, Kaitlyn works with Sam to stop Fenton from exacting his revenge on her and falls in love.
Although the romance is a bit cheesy, the suspense is good. It is refreshing to have a book not filled with profanity and sex.
Jack Wayne's narration is good. His character voices are distinct and believable. He has an easy listening voice which brings the story alive.

And a great tangled web it is

I received this audiobook in exchange for honest review. I downloaded the audible book as well as the Kindle book to help me keep track of the twists and turns. The great study on people whose lives have been torn up if not broken completely. The narrator's performance was perfect for the book. I have recommended this book to several people and I think that most will enjoy it immensely

Wrapped up in this books web!!!

This a clean romantic suspense drew me into its web!

Wow...this is my first book by this author and narrator and it won't be my last! It is the first in Ms. Sleeman's new Agents Under Fire series and wow! This gripping story was rather intense, the characters are well written and the story takes you on so many twist and turns. Sam and Kait are put back into each-others lives after the horrible murder of her twin. Both have so much in their past they have to deal with as navigate the threads to stoping Vyper.

I have to say I usually like the heat level pretty high but I didn't miss it at all. I never knew what would happen next...it was a thrill ride! Be prepared to loose sleep with this page turner.
