What a lovable character Ruby is. I laughed out loud and cried... I am going to miss this character.

Chick lit has been genre of choice for 20 years and this is one of the best I’ve heard so far. It’s also the only audio book that has left me on the edge of happy tears.

By the end of it the characters felt like old friends and it’s so easy to find yourself sucked into Ruby’s world. I could identify with her and sincerely wish that I had a best friend like Charlie.

The book isn’t your usual mushy love story, the twists and turns are what make it feel real.

Will definitely listen to this one again and try and track down all of Ms Matthews books in future. Thank you.

Easy reading with no massively complicated storyline. I think the title would be more suited with” The diary of a 38 year old slapper / bosses booty call “ as that was basically the thrust of the story . Just my opinion !

I wouldn't call it a page turner, but I enjoyed listening to the story while cooking or cycling. a few unexpected twists but a happy ending all round, and a nice touch at the end talking about self made happiness and contentment.

loved this story, the characters, the ups and the downs, a real feelgood journey. I shall think of Ruby Brown everytime I hear Take That! .! I have only recently discovered the Author, this being the 3rd book I have listened too and seeking the 4th.
