Summary

Spend the most wonderful time of the year at Hope Farm.

The gloriously festive sequel to the Sunday Times best-selling novel Happiness for Beginners.

Christmas is fast approaching at the new Hope Farm and Bev has convinced a reluctant Molly to organise an open day to raise some much needed funds ahead of the New Year. Their nativity tableau has everything they need: anti-social sheep, alpacas munching the Baby Jesus doll and a hairdresser dressed up as Santa Claus. But on Hope Farm it's going to take more than mulled wine and Christmas lights to get everyone in the festive spirit....

Molly is looking forward to her first Christmas with Shelby and Lucas, but with father and son continuing to clash and the arrival of Lucas's new girlfriend, it becomes all too clear that their living situation cannot last. And as Shelby plans to take his career to glamorous new heights, Molly fears that a mucky life with her on the farm may no longer be enough for him.

With tensions mounting and the nativity drawing near, Molly is being pulled in too many directions. The animals, the open day, Lucas' teenage angst and Shelby's restlessness are all pushing her to her limit. And that's without the distraction of a shockingly handsome mayor....

A Magical Christmas Story

Loved this book as much as Happiness for Beginners. It was a very enjoyable continuation of the story. It made me want to go to visit the farm and the wonderful characters who live and work there. I experienced many emotions whilst reading it from happiness to anger and everything in-between. I was going to keep this book for closer to Christmas but I was dying to know what happened next so I went for it. So glad I did. Can't recommend it enough. Hope there will be another installment??

It could’ve been better.

Spoilers Alert:

I don’t understand why the author needed to ruin Shelby’s character?!

I find the heroine too passive and set in her ways. Lucas is also so immature and treats his father with so much hate and disrespect beyond what is warranted.

Fantastic hope there's more to come from hope farm

I really enjoyed the first book in the series so was looking forward to reading the second book. As it's getting near to christmas I decided it was time to satisfy my cureosity and read this book.

I loved this book just as much as the first. This one picks up where the last book left off Molly has been convinced by Bev to put on an open day for the community and while this is going on she's also helping a student who's going through dimestic abuse and also there are other things going on.

The main thing I loved about this book however was the bond between Molly and Lukas. This was really strong throughout the whole book and there were some really touching scenes between the two of them specially toward the end of the book.

I would agree with other reviews about this book, there was romance in the book for sure however I would deem it more of a family story than a romance directly.

A wonderful book and would highly recommend this and also the first book in the series. It helps to have read the first book so that you get a full understanding of the characters.

very annoying narrator!

Book is great but narrator has, at times, an irritating babyish voice. It wasn't as noticeable in previous book, Happiness for Beginners.

Loved it!

I love Carole Matthews books but I think the Hope Farm setting is my favourite. This book was full of fun, laughter, and at times tears, all the things Carole Matthews does best. I always feel like I am right there with the characters. I hope there is more to come from Hope Farm.
