About this listen

When Emily's boyfriend posts compromising photos of her on the Internet, her life goes into sharp decline. Emily is about to lose everything - including the man she thought she loved. Her best friend, Cara, is determined to mend Emily's broken heart, and she believes that a little magic is all that's required. But will Cara cast the right spell to get Emily out of her current position? Or will it go horribly wrong when they both fall in love with the same man?

I have enjoyed many Carole Matthews book but this one just got me cross. It is so unbelievable and poorly composed. Doubt I’ll try any more

Shame about the narrator

I love a Carole Matthews book. They’re easy listening and often make me laugh out loud. Sadly this one is ruined by the narrator’s voice, it simply doesn’t suit the book. It needs a younger, more interesting voice than this rather boring one whose attempts at the different voices leave much to be desired. Has she ever heard a twelve year old boy speak, for example. Based on this, clearly not. Such a shame Carole, this narration does you no favours, none at all. Sadly it really spoiled a good story.
