Summary

Welcome to the Omega Celibacy Club. No sex until graduation. No unexpected pregnancies. No alphas needed.

Simon

Even if it’s not politically correct to say so anymore, everyone still knows that alphas and omegas are ruled by their biology. Sure, it’s the 21st century now and most people have given up believing in archaic ideas like fated mates, but just take a look at college drop out rates and you’ll see that some things haven’t changed at all. Alphas still dominate, omegas still submit, and horny college kids in heat let their hormones dictate poor choices every day.

Not me and my roommates, though. Not if I have anything to say about it. Too many of our classmates here at Preston College have gotten knocked up and then dropped out. Given up their goals and dreams just because they’ve met an alpha with a big...ego. The point here is that there’s only one surefire way to avoid that trap, and that’s why I started the Omega Celibacy Club. No sex until graduation. No unexpected pregnancies. No alphas needed.

And no, I’m not just saying that because I’ve been hung up on one particular alpha for approximately ever. I’m totally over Hunter King. I mean, not that there was ever anything to get over. Our families have been friends forever and he dated my sister back when I was still just a kid, but even if me and my right hand may have pined for him once upon a time, I barely ever think of him anymore.

I mean never. I never think of him anymore.

Did I mention I’m over it?

Hunter

Weddings are a great place to get laid, but when I show up for my ex’s big day, I’m hoping to get a lot more than that. I’ve never admitted it, but the reason I broke up with her all those years ago was because of her brother. One look at little Simon Lawson and I was a goner. Of course I didn’t say anything though, not back then. I didn’t touch him. Always kept my distance. I had to, because he was just a kid...but he’s all grown up now.

I’ve bided my time for years, but now I’m ready to see if the feeling is mutual. And if it is, I know exactly what I want. I want Simon. I want a family. And I want it forever. And even though I’ve never been the kind of alpha who imposes his will on omegas, when I finally realize just what it is that my omega needs, I know I’ll do anything at all to make that forever happen.

In fact, I’ll do everything.

Make Me Give In is the first book in the Omega Celibacy Club series, a contemporary omegaverse world where the only thing stronger than an alpha’s will is his desire to keep his omega happy, and where even omegas who don’t believe in fated mates sometimes still find them.

Entertaining and surprising!

So, I had all these preconceived ideas when I started reading this book, especially regarding Simon and how he was going to react to Hunter and I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised that I was wrong. This was such a fun story and a fantastic way to introduce me as a reader to the OCC (Omega Celibacy Club) and Simon's friends, who I can't wait to read their own stories.

Hunter was the perfect Alpha, sweet and supportive, and just so dreamy. And Simon was very likable. They had awesome chemistry together and were hot, hot, HOT in bed and out of it.

Charlie David knocked it out the ballpark with his narration, he totally nailed Simon and Hunter and their friends' voices and made the story even more entertaining for me.

Definitely an audiobook you don't want to miss out on!

Hunter is Simon’s snickerdoodle

I’ll start my review by discussing Charlie David. I enjoy his narrations because he always delivers a solid and reliable performance. He had distinct voices for each of the male characters (and there were a bunch of them), and handled the rest of the book with a solid narration. I’m glad he helmed this book.

I did enjoy the book although I didn’t love it. The story was fairly predictable – an omega who knows pregnancy will ruin his chances of having a successful career and life beyond being a husband and father. Simon is so worried that he recruits his brother and two friends into creating the Omega Celibacy Club. They take a celibacy (note – not virginity) pledge, dedicated to foreswearing all intercourse with alphas until they graduate university. It’s funny to watch how each member tries to figure out what he can get away with (is oral sex included? what about watching porn?).

Simon, although founding member, soon gives up the pledge. He’s found his mate and he’s on blockers, so what’s the big deal, right? Of course I knew he was going to wind up pregnant. Of course I knew he was going to freak out. Of course I knew things would work out in the end. I was looking for more with this book, the first in the series. I wanted to see character growth, but all I saw was overwrought and anxiety. You’d think there had never been a successful working mother before to set a good example. Or, in this world, a father who gave birth and then went on to a career. Even stories from those close to Simon don’t really move the needle with him. I guess I wanted more differentiation between the standard knocked up and pregnant story. It’s a tried and true trope, but I hoped this would go further.

All that being said, I enjoyed the book and will pick up the next one in the series. I’m interested to see how the other men react to Simon’s fatherhood and their own raging omega hormones.

Really enjoyable

A new to me Author which I'm going to have to look for more book by them. Simon is anOmega that I really liked. He has plans which he plans to bring to fruition, great characters and world building and as I have said I'm going to check out more books. Written in a way that I enjoyed a lot. Charlie David was fabulous with the story and take on all the characters, one would definitely recommended

Simon, the Fixer

Simon, an omega determined to help his omega peers to not be derailed from their college ideals and goals, creates a celibacy club. Simon and his friends are in for a great experience in life lessons.
I enjoyed the concept of the book and how passionate Simon was. He deserved an Alpha like Hunter, loving and supportive and yet sooo dominant. And the sexy scenes sounded amazing 😉

Fun and games...

I am a fan of MPreg with sassy omegas and hot alphas and this book did not disappoint.. I very much enjoyed how the characters develop through the story and the finally get together despite the conflict felt by the Simon. Hunter - the alpha was delicious - not your typical "he-man" as he was prepared to make adjustments for Simon and not just demand his rights as an alpha.. I also loved the secondary characters and I am pleased to see that they get their stories too. I'm definitely going to check out Angel Knots backlist as I really enjoyed this story.
Charlie David is a new-to-me narrator, and I am so glad to find a new story teller. I thought his telling of the story was great. His different voices for the character was awesome,

Amazing and so hot

I absolutely loved this book and Charlie David brought it to life perfectly. The relationship between Simon and Hunter was just beautiful and I'm not sure what to say about the sex scenes, other than they were smoking hot - melt your underwear hot. I seriously cannot recommend this book highly enough and cannot wait to jump into book two.

Not bad

The story wasn’t bad but I was ready for it to end just so I wouldn’t have to hear “my baby” anymore

Oath over p*rn CDs don’t count

I think this was really light, fun and fluffy. I mean a celibacy club for virgin omegas? What a sweet and fun idea.

Simon is dead set on preserving his chastity until he finishes his education. Too many omegas and alphas have given up their dreams just because of a moment of passion. And no, he swears he’s over Hunter King. Nope, totally because he wants to graduate college. Little did he know, our hero Hunter has been waiting for this little plump fruit to mature so that he could pluck. One willful omega and one determined omega .. let the game begins!

Fun, sweet and fluffy. Most things I love in ABO books. Hunter is possessive but not overbearing, and Simon is so sweet and yielding to his alpha. Plus, lots of sexy time, Mpreg and knotting! *Rawrrr* Me likey! 😛 Looking forward to next book in the series to listen!

very hawt...hawt...hawt

i found this story very well written and narrated. it is full of well rounded characters and a great story line. and yes very hawt sexy times... the only draw back for me is the way the omegas are made out to have no free will if the alpha uses his "alpha voice" but at least the alpha doesnt seem to take advantage of that much.

Very Steamy

Lots of sex scenes for a book about a celibacy club ;). The lead character wasn't always my cup of tea, too easily overwrought and in his own head about everything for my tastes, but that's just a personal preference. The supporting characters intrigued me. I enjoyed the groundwork to establish the world and the series. Some great moments stood out and others made me laugh. Interesting start to a series overall.

A nice easy, low angst story.

Make Me Give In is my first Angel Knots book but I've listened to several by Charlie David. This story was so hot I thought my phone might catch on fire while I was listening to it. 😊

The story is told in first person, with chapters alternating between Simon and Hunter. Simon and his other omega friends don't want to give up their career goals and become tied down to an alpha so they form the Omega Celibacy Club. They agree not to have sex until they have finished school and are on their way to achieving their career goals.

This is all well and good until Simon's secret crush, Hunter, comes to help him when he has an unexpected heat. What Simon doesn't know is that Hunter has wanted him for years but had to wait until Simon got a little older before saying anything.

I really don't think I've read an MPREG story where the sexy time was any hotter than it is in this book. Just WOW! But in addition to that we have Hunter who is the perfect alpha. All he cares about is the wellbeing of his omega. This is a great, low angst, fluffy story.

I love Charlie David's audiobooks. I had just a tiny bit of trouble telling the difference between characters in this one. It's possible that it was me, though, because I was performing household chores while listening. However, that doesn't usually distract me from what I'm listening to. In any case, this was a great book to listen to and I enjoyed it very much.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Charlie David is Awesome!

🎧Make Me Give In - Audio Book🎧
1/29/2020

Last Spring I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC for the ebook version of Make Me Give In, and it was one of the funniest, hottest, MM romance reads, I had read to that point.

Since then I have had the opportunity to read a few hundred (no...really!😁) more books. When an ARC of the audio version came my way I had just come out of a post audio book-gasm, thanks to the oh so decadent and smooth voice talents of Charlie David in another audio ARC, so I knew this would be Omegazing! And baby, it was all that and a bag of Alpha-chips!😋

David did each and every little nuance from the characters to ppp..pp..perfection. Even Emmett's stammering when he discussed things of an intimate Alpha/omega nature. Nolan was ever stoic, and Tristan the bouncy fun loving ray of sunshine that made the house the guys all lived in truly a home away from home.

You could not only hear, but feel Simon, the OCC founder and fearless leader whose motto should have been, "Take my advice, since I obviously have no use for it." The listener could sense he wanted nothing more than to make sure his friends were protected from alphas who would only use them, then take away their dreams. Those same listeners could also sense when he was full of himself and needed an ego check. 😂 Silly Simon.

Then, the alpha, Hunter, with his alpha voice, and alpha charm, and alpha looks, and alpha scent, and alpha love for Simon. Perfectly brought to life in a made for sin but taking you to heaven voice, thanks to Charlie David. **sigh...

What makes or breaks an audio book is the narrator's ability to raise an author's words from the page and bring them to life through their voice in the same way a musician brings music to life through an instrument. You can learn to play an instrument, but without passion behind what you are playing, the music is lifeless. Thank Gaia, Charlie David has enough passion for a 60 piece orchestra!💖

Dunno if it's fate, or I'm just having a good 2020 so far (and it's only January), but this is my 3rd Audio book, narrated by David, and I just reviewed a movie of his. I had never heard of him before that first ARC (I don't come out of my Dragon lair often). He's my new favorite hidden treasure. Arrgh!😂

Want a HAWT, funny, OTT, New Adult, Omegaverse, Mpreg, to tantalize your eardrums...give this a listen 🎶, you won't be disappointed!

5+ OCC-super-nova-stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I received a complimentary audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.💋

Funny, so funny!

Simon has such a fun inner voice! I love him. And Emmett, OMG! Emmett is so perfect, blushing and stammering but still willing to share his immense knowledge about, well... everything!

I like the addition of the fated mates as a scientific fact to the Omega!verse. And I liked Hunter, in the beginning, at least. In the end, I'm not so sure. Which is weird, as usually works the opposite way. But obedience is not my kink, and that is probably what happened here.

Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed this story, and Charlie David did such a great job with the narration! It made everything even better :)

Fated Mates!!!!

Make Me Give In by Angel Knots is the first book in The Omega Celibacy Club. It's a fun story. Simon and Hunter are great characters. I love them together and their story is sweet, sexy and funny. Worth the listen and definitely builds up the interest for the next book in series.

Narration is by Charlie David and does a great job. The recording is clear and smooth sounding. The voice work is great - the characters' personalities come through and shines...the entertainment of the story heightened by the voices.

Simon not great

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. Simon is 1 of 4 omega roommates didn't do this book justice. He was too much of an airhead. The roommates were great with their serious conversations revolving around desserts. Despite their differences, they were very supportive of each other. The book was well written and a good start to a new series.
