Summary
Soren Green is a good man. An ex-MMA fighter, single father, and a lawyer helping to better the lives of LGBT teens. But his life isn’t as simple as it seems. And things get turned a little upside down when he stumbles on a troubled man on the side of the road, making his way through a snowstorm. Soren knows one of his biggest problems is his bleeding heart, but how can he turn away when he was once that man out in the cold?
Kane Winters once had it easy. Rich parents, silver spoon, everything at his disposal. But Kane was never a lucky man, and nothing is proof of that more than his abusive boyfriend dying in a freak accident, and his uncontrollable anger sending him into a tailspin.
He returned to Fairfield with a chip on his shoulder, felony on his record, and no hope of recovering himself as the man he once was. Kane was certain that he was condemned to this life - cold, alone, and unloved. Then, in the middle of a storm, a stranger pulls over to offer him a ride.
Kane took a blind leap once, and it almost destroyed his life, but he’s not so sure the bald man with the walking cane and kind eyes would be anything like his ex. Will the two men figure out a way to make it work, or will their pasts continue to leave them to a future without hope?
Renegades is the first book in the series Breaking the Rules - an Irons and Works spin-off. Each book contains no cheating with an HEA.

Nothing special
Nice story, nothing special. It's a bit strange that in a small village 90 percent of the population is gay men. Two of Kane's partners run under a car and both Kane and S have abusive exes, although Tim was emotional abusive.
Further a lot of unnecessary info was dropped. Why do I have to know everybody's name, his husbands name and how they met?
The noise reduction was very low quality

Must listen!
Story: After reading Irons and Works, picking up the spin off series was a total no brainer. I am glad to report, that the quality the previous books were known for is well and truly carried over to this new venture! True to form, we get another couple of brilliant MCs, intense and amazingly depicted emotions, and a plot that will leave you invested to the very last page.
Soren and Kane totally stole my heart and I am sure this story will demand at least one re-read at some point. A job well done and as usual, I need more!
Narration: on point! A good voice and easy to follow narration.

Another great from E.M. Lindsey
Another great from E.M. Lindsey. This is another series entirely, but I loved the little appearances from Irons and Works. The two main characters have gone through their own hardships, and I love a hardships hurt - comfort read.
As far as the narration, I struggle with Zachary as a narrator sometimes. I like his voice, and in some audiobooks, I don't notice myself struggling quite so much to differentiate the characters, but in this one, I could not tell the difference just from voice alone. That means I have to be paying very close attention, and one of the things I enjoy about an audiobook is relaxing while I'm listening, but I don't relax quite so completely when I'm always having to be conscious of which character is talking. I'd like to hear some differentiation from him.

Beautiful story!
I already owned the book, but I lived it so much I got the audiobook! This is the first time I have heard this narrator and I absolutely loved his voice! He did a wonderful job with the amazing story if Kane and Soren. Both men have been hurt in the past and now it is time to see if they are able to love again.

Love will find you
Love this story. I enjoyed reading this book and listening to it was just as enjoyable if not more so. Kane and Soren are so good for each other. Sometimes it just takes one person's random act of kindness and belief in you to change your entire world for the better.
Narrator Zachary Zaba does a wonderful job.

Another enjoyable listen.
I continue to love hearing the stories from E.M. Lindsey just as much as I loved reading them. The change in narrator didn't negatively impact my enjoyment of hearing Soren and Kane's story. I look forward to all other offerings in the future from both parties.

Wonderful
It was lovely getting to spend time with so many of the Iron and Works characters again, and especially lovely to finally see Soren find love. Lindsey has this wonderful way of taking beaten down characters and making them flourish. I really liked Kane a lot too. He had it extremely tough, but that made it so much sweeter to see him get the love he deserved. Zachary Zaba did a fabulous job with the narration.
