Story
Two weeks before Christmas and all through Manhattan, shop windows are decorated in red and green satin. I'm standing alone in front of the famous Vivant department store, when a charming man named Aiden asks my opinion of the décor. It's a tragedy in tinsel, I say, unable to lie. He asks for a better idea with a twinkle in his eye. Did I know he owned the place? No. He put me on the spot. Now I'm working for that man, trying to ignore that he's hot. But as a down on her luck girl with a difficult past, I know an opportunity when I see one—and I have to make it last.

Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

Hi, my name is Bree Camden, and I’m hopelessly in love with my best friend and star quarterback Nathan Donelson (so is half of America, judging by the tabloids and how much the guy dates). The first step is admitting it, right? Except, I can never admit it to him because he clearly doesn’t see me that way, and the last thing I want is for things to get weird between us. Nothing but good old-fashioned no-touching-the-sexiest-man-alive platonic friendship for us! Everything is exactly how I like it! Yes. Good. (I’m not crying; I’m just peeling an onion.)

The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow. My meet cute (well, not so meet cute) is slightly different. I was trolling a wealthy neighborhood in Beverly Hills, searching for someone to take me as their bride, you know, to make my arch nemesis jealous who consequently just fired me.

Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in...well, everything. Her identical twin sister, Amy, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag), and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.

Summary
New York Times best-selling author Tessa Bailey returns with a unique, sexy romantic comedy about a young married couple whose rocky relationship needs a serious renovation....
Rosie and Dominic Vega are the perfect couple: high school sweethearts, best friends, madly in love. Well, they used to be, anyway. Now, Rosie’s lucky to get a caveman grunt from the ex-soldier every time she walks in the door. Dom is faithful and a great provider, but the man she fell in love with 10 years ago is nowhere to be found. When her girlfriends encourage Rosie to demand more out of life and pursue her dream of opening a restaurant, she decides to demand more out of love, too. Three words: marriage boot camp.
Never in a million years did Rosie believe her stoic, too-manly-to-emote husband would actually agree to relationship rehab with a weed-smoking hippie. Dom talking about feelings? Sitting on pillows? Communing with nature? Learning love languages? Nope. But to her surprise, he’s all in, and it forces her to admit her own role in their cracked foundation. As they complete one ridiculous - yet surprisingly helpful - assignment after another, their remodeled relationship gets stronger than ever. Except just as they’re getting back on track, Rosie discovers Dom has a secret...and it could demolish everything.

Wasn't a terrible romance, just wasn't memorable
I think I was excited to read this romance because as far as I know this is the few romances this author has with PoC leads. I figured hey, why not give it a try on audio. I actually think hearing the actress butcher the hero's Bronx accent, I would've been better off with just the ebook instead.
I really liked the concept of this book. About a married couple who just fell into a boring routine and just couldn't find the heart to do anything about it until the heroine filed for separation. I think my issue was just that the hero and heroine were both Latino/a, but I wasn't satisfied with the representation. The hero was Puerto Rican and kind of misogynistic and bonehead-ish. It was like he had no interest in his wife unless it was having sex with her. And the heroine was mixed race, Argentine and African-American meaning she was Afro-latina and yet, she never called herself that. She could've been just Argentine and it wouldn't have mattered. I don't see why she was both it the author wasn't going to incorporate both cultures. I don't know any mixed race black people who don't take some sort of interest in their black side, too. As an Afro-latina reader, I'm not sure why every Afro-latinx character every author chooses to write about is mixed race??? There are latinos(YES EVEN FROM ARGENTINA)that are black without being mixed race. I just don't know why people is 2020 haven't learned that yet!!!
The hero was kind of stereotypical and machismo, I just think it was a bad look for PR men and it's gonna limit my reads from this author unless they're white characters.

Intriguing and well narrated
This book was a great follow up to Fix Her Up. Right away the author got you sucked into Dominic and Rosie’s story— the well developed characters keep you invested right from the start!
The narration was excellent - Charlotte North did a great job of voicing the different characters without them sounding cheesy or fake.

Second chance story
What can I say, besides I absolutely loved this book. It’s a second chance romance, with all the feels.
Firstly, I have to say I absolutely love Tessa Bailey and she hasn’t disappointed me with this book. This is a story of Rosie and Dominic and they have been together since high school. After several years of just do-existing, Rosie has had enough. She wants more..... can Dom save is marriage before it’s too late.
This is the second book in the series, it can read as a stand-alone, but highly recommend reading in the order. Do your a favour and read or listen to this book now.

I cannot finish this book. It's too bad.
This is honestly one of the worst books I have ever read or listened to. It is unnecessarily sexual in weird places. I've never been married, separated, or divorced but I guarantee that's not how people act when they're breaking up. The author had the opportunity to really explore the psychology of a soldier after war and she blew it by having his character only be about sex. Rosie's character is just as shallow. She talks about how she wants to go home to him within the first few chapters. Girl, if you want to go home, then do it. The games she was playing was just as disgusting as Dominic only caring about sex.
The narrator was good, but she made Dominic sound like he was always angry. Aside from that, I had no issues with that aspect of the book.
