About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
The unfiltered truth about being a rugby player - from the horsey's mouth.
This book is not just about how I got back on my horse and went clippity-clop all the way to the World Cup final in Japan.
It's the story of how a fat kid who had to live up to the nickname Psycho grew up to play (and party) for over a decade with rugby's greatest pros.
From just about surviving the equivalent of 30 car crashes a game and crooning Adele for team spirit, to extensive field notes on the smell of the Scrum and the fine art of on-pitch relief. Then there's rugby's secret naked wrestling scene and how it was exposed.
In my world, you never know how the ball will bounce....

Funny bloke but admits hes human !!
What a honest rollercoaster of emotions not afraid to admit that he struggled and not everything was as colourful as his mohawk at times.

Did not disappoint
I own the hardback of this book but when I realised that Joe narrated the audio version, I had to indulge in that version instead.
What followed was one of the most honest and insightful looks into the world of Quins number 1 while genuinely making me laugh out loud along the way.
The impressions while recalling conversations really got me... the nickname chapter with Chris Robshaw "England Player" had me giggling like a child along with the impressions of Eddie Jones and Dan Cole.
Very heartfelt section on mental health which was insightful and a change of pace in the book that everyone should take time out to listen/read.
Thank you for sharing Joe. Hopefully few more years of your antics on/off the field still to come.

Fantastically told by Marler
I didn’t know much about Joe Marler but what a great listen. Doesn’t take himself too seriously, really funny and honest. Best autobiography I’ve listened to in a long time

Honest as they come
Great insight into a huge character from the last 10 years of premiership and England rugby. Funny and interesting to get a behind the scenes look at what goes on and courageous of Joe to open up about his mental health situation - takes guys to do that and I have a new found respect for him
