Decent book with a couple of weaknesses.

Overall, very good overview of basic logic. However, I noticed a few biases, and also some of his counter arguments in the suggested responses to the proponent to be illogical, illustrating he was making a couple of illogical fallacies himself!

Starts off well, but quickly degrades itself.

It started out to be interesting, but then the author almost appears to lose interest in his own argument, or has gotten distracted. Instead of continuing to present his material, he goes off on political quips. The book becomes more about why he dislikes Christians and Republicans. This happens about 1/4 the way into the book. Is this a book about debate tactics, or just an excuse to express his distain for his political opposites? Less politics. More subject matter. It is disappointing.

life changing logic

Pure logic. I also like that he is using no political examples when he can help it.

Might make life easier.

Not only have I used the book to construct better arguments, I have been able to defend myself better (no more successfully) against my wife and her use of Facebook references for her base data.

IT'S THE BEST!

Offers the absolutely best approach to a daily understanding of when language is being used by politicians, salespeople and others to deceive you! Reading this book, divided into small segments for a solid understanding, will save you the trouble of taking a college-level philosophy course in symbolic logic.

Beneficial to high school or college kids.

Nothing new here for experienced persons. It all seemed like common sense (which is not common enough) but you never know when you'll learn something from a different point if view but still good for high school kids.

Not very logical

The material jumps to all kinds of conclusions while claiming not to. It says if you believe aliens built Stonehenge then you're a conspiracy theorist. While it's highly unlikely aliens did build it, we don't have any conclusive proof they didn't, just the likelihood they didn't. The same kind of idea is repeated when the narrator talks of people saying soy raises estrogen levels. He says it's a myth while at the same time saying studies in sheep showed an increase in estrogen levels and that, if true, estrogen is only slightly raised. Well, is the idea a myth or is there the possibility that it might be true, even if only by a slight amount? He also says anything that bucks scientific consensus is illogical. Really? Piltdown Man used to be considered real by scientific consensus until it was proven to be a fake. Would the scientist of that era be considered illogical for being right? You get my point. There's a LOT of that kind of thing. The book makes assumptions based on what can be considered common sense, which is always dangerous. That gets very annoying as the book goes along. Skip it and go for something better.

Interesting, A Little Disappointed.

Enjoyed the read. It was very interesting to read during this period. Many parallels between the speakers and the content. Still I am a bit disappointed with some descriptions.

Fascinating read.

Taken right out of current discourse the book reveals many of the tricks of the political trade. A must read for everyone.

Clear, concise thinking.

This great audible contains enough text to get the point across, but not so much that it becomes tedious. Teaches how to think correctly. Well done.
