Story
Handsome and mysterious, he swoops in to offer me a new life, but this is no knight in shining armor. He’s cold, hardened by his past. But there’s an inferno underneath the ice. I can feel the heat each time he looks at me - each time he gives in to the desire between us. No matter how much I push to unleash the fire in his eyes, he shoves back harder each time. He’s merciless with his cruel words, telling me how naive I am, how little I know of the world.

Story
I promised her that I'd live my best life once I was free. It was that promise that led me to Voyeur - to Daniel. What better place to conquer my fear of intimacy than a club that allows you to watch? And who better to help me than the owner himself? On night one, my past comes roaring back, urging me to run like I always had before. This time I ran into his arms. With my fear still clinging to my skin, he brushed it away and made his own promise: I'll teach you.

Story
I didn't know she was my student the first time I paid to watch her at Voyeur. Once she walked into my classroom, another smiling college freshman, I knew I should stop going. Stop watching. But I couldn't do it. Everything about her makes me want more, and once I realize she wants me too, the temptation becomes irresistible. The worst part is that she has no idea her professor is the one watching behind the glass. I just have to hope that once she finds out the truth, she wants the same thing I do. Because now that I've seen all of her, I can't look away.

I blame the bubbles for my wild night with a masked stranger. Who cares if it's nothing this good girl would normally do - with a man who turns out to be my horrible boss? Who cares that I’m promised to someone else? I blame the alcohol for agreeing to marry him. As long as my new husband keeps his mouth shut, I can survive five years of our little arrangement. It's too late for anything else. But our impromptu wedding leads to so much more than I bargained for.

He's everything she didn't know she wanted. She's everything he thought he could never have. The last thing I expect when I walk into The Hawkeye Club is to fall head over heels in lust. It’s supposed to be a rescue mission. I have to get my baby sister off the pole, into some clothes, and out of the grasp of the pussy peddler who somehow manipulated her into stripping. But the moment I see Savage Hawke and verbally spar with him, my ability to remain rational flies out the window and my libido takes center stage.

The arrangement was simple, with only two rules. Rule number one: Don't fall in love. Rule number two: Refer back to rule one when necessary. I thought I could stick to the rules, but with a girl like Fallon, I should've known those rules were meant to be broken. We've been best friends since we were kids, and she's the only woman I'd ever even consider for more than a one-night stand. No matter how much I'm attracted to her, and I'm pretty effing attracted, I know she deserves more than a man who will never commit to one woman.

If this arrogant Irish mobster my brother sold my niece to thinks I’m going to play nice over this arranged-marriage BS, he should think again. I kissed my father’s best friend, and it kind of didn’t go well. Not only because he’s 18 years older than me - but he also didn’t like it. Not one bit. In my defense, I didn’t mean to fall for him. It just happened. Nathaniel Weaver is the most attractive man I’ve ever seen with enough charisma to blind the sun. He’s bigger than the world, owns half of it, and conquered the other half. He was forbidden. Wrong. So I totally got over him. Or so I told myself. Until we’re forced to get married.

In fifth grade my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed. It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever. For the next seven years, it was us. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

Jude "Lucky" Lucketti wasn't just a sexy, brooding construction worker. He was my own personal hero, showing up in all the right places at the right times. Like when my car broke down and I needed a ride home, and when I face-planted on the sidewalk right in front of him and had to be taken to the emergency room. We became friends, and it didn't matter that he was 16 years older than me. We had a lot in common - like our love of old rock music and vintage fast cars and our aversion to relationships.

Earning a full scholarship to King University was my hard-earned ticket out of hell. I'm happy to be away from the small town I grew up in. King was going to be my safe haven. Diving head first into new experiences, new friends, and parties, I didn't expect to run straight into the one thing I wasn't ready for.

Summary
He was my uncle's friend, and I was too young for him. But in the heat of the moment, against the wall in a darkened hallway of an illicit club, none of those things mattered. It was just one night of giving in to what we both wanted.
I never expected to see him two years later, sitting across from me during a family dinner, encouraging me to do my internship for his business.
On day one, we both agree that repeating that night would be a mistake. But it's a mistake we can't help but make again and again.
The rules are simple. We can't tell my uncle. We have to be content with our hotel rendezvous. And we won't fall in love.
But we both know we're liars.

A must for fans of age gap romance
Fiona Cole writes some of the best tension-filled, high heat level romances out there and this one hit the mark. I’m a sucker for an older man/ younger woman romance and add in the family ties, it made it all the more intense. I loved the progression, that the woman pursued the man and that when they eventually gave in to their desire, it was like fireworks.
Brian Pallino is absolutely fantastic as the dirty talking Alexander Kent. His voice was like sin. I don’t think anyone else could have done this story justice. Kent’s bromance came through with the humour and the sexy times where on fire. Ava Erickson was brilliant as Olivia Witt, she was able to not going portray the young, feisty character but nailed the vulnerability of her too. Brian and Ava’s voices complemented each other really well. The combination of young and older showed in their voices and made for an excellent performance.

PATHETIC heroine..Secondhand embarrassment abounds
Prepare to meet the stage five clinger who keeps on clinging!! Boy, are you in for a treat!! (you're really not) The cringe NEVER stopped. It was the most consistent theme throughout the entirety of this insult to women everywhere. This entire book was the heroine chasing the H non stop. THE ENTIRE book was just a guide on "How to he extremely needy and pathetic: 101".
My biggest petpeeve is a weak/pathetic/needy heroine. One who chases after a man ESPECIALLY when the H is all reluctant and pushing them away and they just keep at it until the H runs out of ways to say "no".
Meet Olivia. She is that h in the flesh. She continually threw herself at H feet, putting herself out there while he rejected her over and over. She forced her way into an internship for him to spend more time with him while he was outwardly making it clear HE DID NOT WANT HER TO and she even acknowledged in her internal monologue that he wanted her to say no, but guess what this b**ch did? Can you guess? She said yes anyways, putting him in a situation where he couldn't say no at that point. It was beyond cringey.
This entire book was just one continuous moment of secondhand embarrassment and cringing. This author has turned cringing into an entire event.
"I wasn't going to keep throwing myself at someone who continually turns me down" -Olivia
Spoiler Alert------>SHE TOTALLY DID. She totally did in fact do just that. Just kept on being a pathetic ass b**ch throwing herself at the H.
The one and only time throughout all of her pathetic "let me throw myself at this person who keeps rejecting me" phase that he put himself out there for a change (in a very small way) by asking her about a date with her ex showing a small bit of jealousy; This woman, being the pathetic needy b*tch she was immediately used it as a chance to ONCE AGAIN throw herself out there telling him that she was thinking about him instead of just letting his jealousy simmer. I just can't. He is literally LITERALLY in the real sense not in the ironic overused sense..he's LITERALLY telling her to stop and she just keeps right on going. I'm cringing just having to relive the scene by typing this. After dismissing her to accept the advances of OW (right after h/H have sex) the next time they encounter eachother, guess what this needy idiot does?? Yep, throws herself at him again! She keeps saying "I'm not going to chase him" as she chases him. She has several opportunities to return the favor where OM give her attention and instead of exploiting the opportunities she blatantly makes each occasion about H making it clear he knows its just to make him jealous which just made her more pathetic. She asks him if he plans on meeting up with the OW he dismissed her for to which he replies "that's not of your business" and you know what she does?!? feels him up and begs him to take her home to have sex. AFTER THIS MF insinuated he'd be meeting up with OW who he already insinuated he just ditched her for to sleep with this DAB begs him to take her home.
I kept thinking "okay, hes going to start begging her and she's going to tell him to eff off" SHE DID NOT. she just begged and begged and chased and chased. Aside from the fact that it was pathetic to listen to her chase him for hours and hours and hours even while they're texting and he's telling her he's with OW there was no point in which she decided to stop chasing him.
I hate when female authors perpetually write weak ass representations of women. The sh*t gets old.
I swear to christ this man could've said and done ANYTHING to this weak moron and she would STILL throw herself at him! She goes down on him as he tells her they can't be together again. Just beyond pathetic.
When he finally throws her a tiny crumb she ditches her bestie in the middle of dinner and LITERALLY RUNS to a car and then runs up to the room he told her to go in. LITERALLY RUNS.
Most pathetic heroine in any book I've ever read. It's soooo bad.
The absolute worst part though??? Is the h inner monologues frequently contains statements such as "but I don't run and jump for any man." "I don't chase any man" "Don't be clingy, don't be clingy" as she throws a fit that this man who is not her bf not even an actual fwb or f budd, is going out of town for work. AS SHES CHASING, BEGGING, AND ASKING HOW HIGH FOR THIS MAN. Like simultaneously being pathetic while telling us she'd never be so pathetic.
All of this pathetic behavior accumulates building up to one final disgusting moment....heroine pouring her heart out about how much she loves H right after seeing him hanging on another woman.

Crossing Lines
Definitely all sorts of lines crossed in this story and I liked it. Age gap, he was best friends with her uncle, she was an intern at his business. They are keeping the relationship a secret from their family and friends. Their chemistry ignites when they are in a room together. Why the 4? I wanted to see Olivia with more tenacity.

Liar
Beware ... this book is part of a series. I did not know this until after I listened to it and went looking for more books by Fiona Cole. I checked her website to see what else she wrote and discovered this is book 5 of 6. All characters from the previous books from this series (except Savior) are integral parts of this story; however, I thought they were just secondary characters in a stand-alone. When I read the reviews prior to purchasing this book, none of them mentioned it was part of a series. I'm sure any of the books can be read without having read the prior to the book, because these characters are introduced and explained satisfactorily in Liar. After listening to Liar, I probably won't go back and listen to the prior books, as the relationships exist in Liar. I do look forward to listening to Teacher (Daniel's story).
This story, Liar, is about Daniel's niece and his best friend. At first, Olivia is the pursuer and Kent tries (albiet weakly) to dissuade her interest. The story progresses well, with the development of a real relationship, and character growth in both Olivia and Alexander (Kent). There is a definite hotness factor in the book, and it enhances the chemistry between the two. Definitely worth a credit.

Another good one
Although this isn't my favorite book from the Voyeur series, it is definitely worth the read. All of the books I've read from this author have been well-written and this is no exception.
I loved Kent and the chemistry between him and Olivia was definitely steamy. I enjoy the age gap trope. Throw in a sexy dominant - all the better. While I don't get hung up on ages, I expect the FMC to be mature enough to understand what she's getting into. Unfortunately in this story, Olivia's youth and immaturity set up roadblocks that prevented the relationship from really progressing. As a result, I had some doubts that she was actually mature enough to be part of it. It takes her a while to get there.
The dual POV narration is well done by Ava Erickson & Brian Pallino. All in all, it's a good story and continuation of the series that sets up the characters for the final book. However, I don't know that this will be one I revisit later, so it doesn't hit the exceptional mark for me.

Good Book
Overall this is an entertaining book. I was enjoying it thoroughly until around 70% because Olivia (FMC) starts to get annoying and show just how naive and selfish she is. Honestly, Alexander (MMC) proves to be a patient man and I felt bad for him. It has some great steamy scenes and the suspense is in those moments. I would recommend it.
