Sheriff Trent Miller was happy with his perfect little life. Being a 36-year-old omega with no partner or family suited him just fine, until it all changed. Lawson Fisher hated Cherry Hollow. He only returned to his small hometown to help his papa when his dad was diagnosed with cancer. Working alongside Sheriff Miller was frustrating at the best of times, but when Trent went into heat, Lawson felt it was his duty to help him through it, like any good alpha. Besides, he couldn’t seem to keep his hands off Trent.
The more time Lawson spends with Trent, the more he realizes the omega isn’t as bad as he first thought. When they find out Trent’s pregnant, both their lives change. They need to decide the best thing to do for themselves and their baby, especially since not everyone in town is rooting for them to have a happily ever after.

A well-matched couple, with hopes for the future!
Two head stong individuals meet around unfortunate circumstances and heat ensues! Law and Trent are well matched and have a lot of "give and take". Their initial meeting and growing (occasionally awkward) lust made for an interesting read. I didn't feel that Trent was "too old" for Law, especially in the ways they acted together and I didn't really like that being continually pointed out by various unhappy characters as the story went on.
Trent's ex was a real piece of work and caused many problems for everyone involved but added a level of thrill and tension to the story. I enjoyed the coming together but though there could have been more "feelings" throughout the story, Law was always a bit gruff, he needed softening ;)
All in all a fun read, great listen and a good introduction to the Cherry Hollow Series!!

I think I enjoyed this book more, as the Omega was the Sheriff and the Alpha was his partner at work. Quite the turnaround to how books are usually written, and in this book the Omega was not someone who came across as weak. The Sheriff had been taking medication to hold off his heats, but his Doctor told him no more - and so Trent went into heat.... and Law being the caring alpha and proper partner said he would help Trent through his heat......
Trent, although being older and thinking he is past having a child, then falls pregnant, but it is not the happy ever after, there is more than one person not happy with what is happening between Trent and Law....
