Summary
Lady Jo Danvers has declared war on her humdrum life.

I Loved this Book
Yet another brilliant book from the hand & imagination of Scarlett Scott. This the 2nd book in the series was better than the first.
The 2 narrators also did such a brilliant job of bringing it to life.
I'm off to begin the 3rd book in the series & cannot wait.
I would definitely recommend it.

Inconsistent narration
Okay story but the narration really lets it down. It was so patchy and the voices changed all the time for the same characters. I listened on the plus catalogue but I don’t think it would be worth a credit

Standard performance - so-so story
The performance was so much better than the first book, I’m so glad they changed the female performer. However, the series doesn’t lend itself to dual narration and I think the books would be improved if either of the performers read the book alone.
The story was a bit too light. I wasn’t expecting war and peace but the story reads as multiple love scenes strung together by a few words. If that’s your thing great, but I do expect a bit of a story. The meet-cute was poor, they seemed to fall in love based on nothing and there were no twists or surprises.

Steamy love story
A surprisingly mature heroine given her nineteen years wins over a dissolute rake. Lots of predictable sex - rather boring considering his chequered past. I love Cornell Collins as a narrator. Anaïs Inara Chase is also very good.

No wallflower!
Excellent story if you like steamy Victorian sagas .
I read a lot of Scarlett’s books and this one does not disappoint .
A steamy romance with lots of love scenes always well written by Scarlett .
The audio was well read and they managed to keep the characters real and alive an enjoyable listen .

Enjoyed it very much
Enjoyed this 2nd book of the series very much, more than the first one as Jo was such a darling. Decker was hilarious. It was a funny and beautiful love story. Love scenes were also steamy and nice.
As for the narrators I don't see the point of having a duo if the male narrator doesn't read the male dialogue and the female narrator reads the female dialogue. I usually love a duo narrating but not this way. The female narrator's male voice was too weak, Decker was supposed to have a deep voice. In fact sometimes I couldn't tell if Jo or Decker was speaking. As for the male narrator's female voice, that was OK. If I had to choose one narrator to read it all though, I would choose Cornell Collins.
