Summary
Lorraine Heath begins an exciting new series with a breathtaking romance about a young woman who must marry a titled gentleman to obtain her inheritance and the unsuitable man with whom she begins to fall madly in love.
She is desperate to wed a duke....
Lady Kathryn Lambert must marry a titled gentleman to claim her inheritance and has finally gained the attention of a duke. Yet she is unable to forget the scandalous second son who aided in her achievement - or his betrayal.
He wants what he can never possess....
Lord Griffith Stanwick is tormented by the bitter truth that as a “spare”, he will never be able to give Kathryn what she yearns to possess. But when his father is found guilty of treason, Griff detours into the dark and dangerous corners of London, haunted by memories of the woman lost to him forever.
Love not to be denied....
As the duke’s courtship intensifies, Kathryn discovers Griff has become a man to be reckoned with. When old passions flare and new desires ignite, she must decide if sacrificing her legacy is worth a lifetime shared with the scoundrel of her heart.

Not the best, but still good
I struggled with this book. I actually started and stopped twice before I finally listened to the entire book. Even at that, I fast-forwarded a few times. The characters were lacklustre as was the story. It may have been just me, so I won't make further negative comments. The fact that I didn't love the book doesn't diminish Lorraine's brilliance at story and character development. Neither does it reflect negatively on Kate's narration.

Another Great Read
I loved this book .There are cameos by characters from the Sins for All Seasons Series . The series are connected . We first met Gryff and Katharine in Beauty Tempts the Beast . Gryff is Altheas brother and Katharine is her best friend . If you liked the Sins for All Seasons series, you will like this book.

Slow burn - but worth the time
Sweet and slow. I didn’t mind the story’s length since the characters and supporting characters are all phenomenal. Love the carrying on of the “Sins for All Seasons “ Trewlove family.
Narrator is one of the best. Can’t wait to read the next two books in the series. Already pre-ordered Marcus’ story.

Pale Lorraine Heath
Heath has done much better. I love her but this one is kinda boring. No real tension.

Lovely story.
I am hoping for Marcus' story next to learn more about the father's treason ... bit this was a great book. It is sort of a continuation of the Trewloves story since it begins before Althea meets Beast, which was the last of the *Sins* books.
I enjoyed it very much. Griffin is a wonderful Hero who shows an immature man can change and grow. My only complaint is Kathryn's reason behind the *need* for a peer. Really? Marry a peer and give up Grif when no one is really forcing you? Perhaps a more serious need would have made the story a bit more *real*? Anyway....minor issue. Great story.
Kate Reading is one if the absolute best narrators!

Wonderful
I love this series ! I didn’t think I was going to listen to the rest of the books but now I cannot wait for Kingston’s story. This one was a nice transition from the Last book of Sins for all seasons because it follows up with Althea’s brothers and I really love Beauty temps the Beast, she and her husband make an appearance and all the Trewloves.

Well done!
Terrific story, the characters are wonderful, and the narrator is perfection. Definitely worth the credit, and I am on to the next in this series.
