Summary
The Monday Bunch and other local knitters are participating in a fundraising auction to save a community center, creating a growing pile of stuffed animals and toys right in front of the auctioneers as they bid. Among those contributing the most knitted goods is temperamental businesswoman Marsha Hanover, who keels over halfway through the event.
After she is pronounced DOA at the hospital, an autopsy reveals that Marsha had been poisoned. One of the prime suspects is her ruthless business rival Joe Mickels, who lost a bitterly contested property bid to Marsha. When Mickels pleads his innocence, it is up to needlework shop owner Betsy Devonshire to stitch together the clues of this murder mystery.

Decent story line
Any additional comments?
Although I enjoyed the story I must admit to being very cross regarding the research, or lack of it, by Monica Ferris regarding England and Good Friday/Holy Saturday/Easter Monday, and the comment that England is not a Christian country. Really Ms Ferris, get your facts right next time, and do not make comments that you cannot substantiate.

Have to ration myself, otherwise I’d listen straight through.
I thoroughly enjoy this series and this book was no exception. Burglary, poison and a shooting . Betsy works her way meticulously through the case, in her way.

Another well written tale
I have nearly finished listening to all the Crewel World mysteries and I have not been disappointed on one of them. Not raunchy, thank goodness , not missoganistic, so gruesome at all in fact it's what it says on the label, a Cosy Mtystery and I live them.

Great escape for people who love crime and crafts. The story is entertaining and the setting in the world of crafting lovely.

Terrible editing.
This story was difficult to stay "in" due to very sloppy edits. There were at least 4 times in the narration where paragraphs were repeated. Not the best of the series anyway. The new characters were not compelling and I really had trouble caring "who done it."

Best So Far
This is one of the best in the series. Betsy had become somewhat predictable and dry in the past couple of books. However, in this book, I felt like Betsy had new life. The plot and the characters were interesting and engaging like in previous books. But in this book, the writing was better. It drew me into the story more. The characters seemed even more fleshed out and the actions were more believable. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next one.

Presentation kept repeating itself
Great plot, surprise ending. Only complaint is that there were times the last few pages in a chapter would repeat. Mainly towards the end on the book. This is a technical problem.

Fun series until……
I was enjoying this series until Jill’s domineering husband decided she had to get pregnant again when she expressed an interest in becoming a private detective. We don’t live in the 1920s anymore

Monica Ferris
Monica Ferris was a wonderful writer, I've enjoyed all of the Crewel Shop mystery series, and am sad there won't be more. I know she must have had a fantastic life to have been able to write so successfully.
I feel like I am losing a good friend..

Wonderful Mystery
You can always be certain that a novel by Monica Ferris is going to be great.
There are funny parts, and mysterious sections. There are sad sections and happy sections.
Also, the narrator is always pleasing to listen to.
