About this listen
From Nick Roberts, the best-selling author of The Exorcist's House and Anathema, comes fifteen dark tales that are as horrific as they are moving.
Witness absolute evil in “Sally Under the Bed” and “It Haunts the Mind.” Endure vengeance and violence in “The Noose” and “The Bitter End.” Face the realities of addiction and grief in “Thanks for Sharing” and “The Weeping Wind.”
Survive otherworldly monsters in “The Paperboy” and “Voodoo Bay.”In balancing the terrors of the supernatural with the horrors of real life, this collection drags you down the dark alleys of a haunted mind, forcing you to confront your demons, both real and imaginary.
“Come for the horror, stay for the heartbreaking emotion that bleeds into every page. Roberts really shows his range here, and it’s obvious early on in these stories that they will stick with you long after reading them. It Haunts The Mind is that damn good.”—John Durgin, author of The Cursed Among Us and Inside The Devil’s Nest.
“Nick Roberts has an uncanny ability to scare the bejesus out of readers. With It Haunts the Mind & Other Stories, he does it time and time again. Highly recommended if you don’t want to sleep in the dark again.”—James Aquilone, Bram Stoker Award-nominated editor and writer of Classic Monsters Unleashed, Shakespeare Unleashed, and Kolchak: The Night Stalker - 50th Anniversary

Great mix of tales
The narrator of this audiobook was great and gave distinctive voice and personality to every character. The stories themselves overall were really good. As with every short story collection that I have read/listened to, there were 1 or 2 that I didn’t enjoy so much, but mostly I loved the stories within. This audiobook starts strong with an awesome urban legend type story that I loved. Followed by another great story. My favourite was definitely Percepto! A majority of these stories will definitely be listened to again.

Fantastic collection
Nick has a fantastic gift, of making characters likeable or dislikable within sentences. All of the shorts were thoroughly enjoyable and I was upset when it ended. The last story was superb, especially because The Exorcists House was my favourite read of the year.
I struggle with Audible, some of the narrators grate on me and can spoil the book for me, but the narrator was great! Wonderful

An excellent collection of short stories, touching on some very dark subjects.
The writing is great, there's some tension and real scares littered throughout, and these tales feel thematically relevant to eachother, making for a coherent read. If you enjoyed The Exorcist's House, this collection is worth it for the final story, which expands that world a little more. There's plenty of other things to love here as well, though.
Personal favourite stories (in no order) include Voodoo Bay, The Devil's Road, The Deal and Paperboy.
The narration is great, and I really liked the performance throughout these stories. A very minor quibble would be that each story seems to cut off very abruptly at the end, to the extent that I once wondered if it hadn't ended early. I don't think this is the case, and I wouldn't advise avoiding the book because of it - quite the opposite! - but it's worth being prepared for a potentially jarring moment or two.
