About this listen

After two centuries, the fearsome Dowd—a race of faceless monsters once thought banished beyond the Veil—have returned. And no one in the Tartarus Cluster is aware of the coming onslaught.

No one...except for Major Kal Zeris and the women fighting at his side.

Yet even as Kal and the girls race to warn the galaxy about the Dowd invasion, he knows how difficult it will be to convince the Pact and the Yarasi to set aside centuries of mistrust to stand against a common foe.

But if he can somehow identify and neutralize the Dowd’s allies—and unravel the vast conspiracy corrupting the Dominion—then maybe, just maybe, he can convince the great powers of the Cluster to stand together before they die alone.

Invasion is the third installment in the Lost Fleet series, an action-packed male power fantasy in the spirit of Battlestar Galactica, Mass Effect, and Star Trek (the good version).

They are coming!

At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.

Genre: Scifi spacefleet harem
Power dynamics in harem: Girls are attracted to or love MC. MC is assertive. First in-harem threesome.
Explicit/adult material: Explicit and very well done.

Summary:
The world is divided, the council is blaming each other, but the war is coming. Will Kal and his girls be able to make the races set their differences aside and prepare for Invasion.

Narration
Voice diversity: Female voices are great, male voices a little similar.
Pacing and intonation: The story is expertly told. Great sense of urgency.
Sex scenes: Well done.
Overall Narration: 4/5 stars.

The book’s strengths.
- The growth of the relationships and the characters continue being interesting and feeling authentic
- Space fleet politics and possible war between interesting species. The world building is engaging and interesting.
- The girls are very different both in personality and physicality, they have their own goals and flaws and feel like real people
- The sence of urgency as the universe is heading into a galaxy sized war
- The narration

The book’s weaknesses.
- I can't think of anything I would like different.

Overall: 5/5 stars

Good story and listen.

This was a great story and was well performed. The final act was one hell of a sucker punch, which leads nicely into the next book.

interesting

Really like how the story is progressing so far. The character development is progressing very well, and the world building is very interesting. I like that there's slow-burn romance and not just rushing. can't wait for more.

Best sci-fi series in the genre!

If you go back to the reviews for book 1 of this series you will see that I was fortunate enough to receive a free copy of the audiobook, now I’m sure a lot of people would give an audiobook they received 5* irrespective if they actually enjoyed the book since it was given to them for free but then never continue the series.

Well, I liked the book…. A lot. So much so that after listening and loving the book so much that I read the sequel as soon as it was released on kindle and as you can see now purchased the third audiobook in the series and it was well worth the money.

The universe is really well developed and expansive with they’re being multiple factions, race’s planets etc that you would be forgiven if this was set in the Star Wars France and was written by Timothy Zahn. Every character who’s introduced felt very unique with distinct personality and goals that it is impossible to overlap and to characters or confuse which character is speaking (even with out the accent of the narrators)

I believe this series was initially meant to be a trilogy but with the “to be continued” it looks like they’ll be a fourth instalment somewhere down the road. Would also like to see a spinoff set in this universe as it feels there is a plethora of stories to be told.

Can’t recommend this series enough, great job Sarah!
