Summary

He was the number one trouble who threatened to steal her heart.

As a journalist, Jessica Ryder knew how to deal with all kinds of situations, but when her editor assigned her a last-minute interview, she realized she wasn’t prepared at all for the number one tennis player Hayden Connors. She imagined him as some spoiled, rich kid, but found a bad boy billionaire, instead.

From the moment they met, they disliked each other. Hayden was the kind of man that Jessica despised - he was arrogant, a playboy, and bad-mouthed. Yet, she found him so attractive that it became difficult to fight the growing desire that was drawing them closer to each other.

Will Jessica be able to finish this interview with the intact heart, or will she get pulled into his dark, alluring world?

Cute

I enjoyed that story, from nasty bad boy to lover! How cute.
The narration was ok but I would prefer someone who could do different voices.

Missed the mark

This had all the makings of a great story (I am really digging enemies to lovers ATM) but it just felt too rushed- there wasn't enough push and pull between the main characters to build it up. I did enjoy listening to it though

Lacked Interest

This was the first book by this author. I recognize it is a novella but I felt this storyline did not keep me interested. The characters were not well developed. The words and actions of Hayden made him seem unrealistic.

Not bad!

Hayden Connors is the number one in the world golden hope of tennis and Jessica Ryder is assigned to interview him. She has a bad feeling about it because she doesn't know anything about the sport or Hayden Connors. She's told to stay clear of personal questions since he's been through a recent scandal. She can't help herself and, at the end of the interview, she asks an off-limits question. At the flip of a switch, he's kissing her and she's kissing him right back. It's a short story with a good premise, but it's too unrealistic and full of body shaming. It could be so much better.
I listened to this on audible and Maxx Pinkens did a commendable job. His voice is well-modulated and each characters is easily recognized.

Things escalated very quickly from insults to lust.

Narrator wasn't terrible.
