the slayer is back

Really liked this new spin on Buffy the vampire slayer. The story gives you the same vibes as the show and the narration is fab.

Wow

I didn't think I'd like this being a fan of the film and TV series, especially as it doesn't feature Buffy herself, but I've got to say I really enjoyed it and listenep to it in 2 days. I can't wait for the next installment (I hope there'll be another!). I don't like the idea of a Buffy reboot TV series with the original characters cast with new actors but if the premise of this book were used, it would be a whole other matter and I think it would work really well. Frankie Rosenberg, Slayerwitch. Ace, I'd watch it!

nice story but not great

I liked the story it drew me in quickly dispite me not being the biggest of buffy fans. The story was fun and while Sarah had some weaker points she was consistent and a pleasure to listen to.

the story itself however had some flaws and from time to time it looked like it didnt know where it was headed. It also gave off fanfic vibes all in all certainly worth the listen

I didn’t want to like it

I do and I don’t like this. I am a huge buffy fan
And I have a prop replica scythe under my bed.

So any buffy material is good

I liked chosen and slayer that were written a few years ago this was better… I just wished they had been original in character development. Didn’t like the idea of spike as a watcher… and the new slayer being willows daughter.

The return to sunnydale was a bit ike too
But the hell mouth does cast power over ignorance and well USA does seam the home of ignorance even in the real world.

Always did like vi I even wrote my own fan fiction back in the day and she was my featured character lol.

I dunno let’s see what the next one brings to this 40 year olds gay heart

Great book - bad narration

I absolutely loved the book, nostalgic, funny, plenty of the pop culture refrences (as is expected from a buffy story!) but I hated the narrative. it was nasal and robotic and way to slow for me personally. I actually had to increase the speed of the narrator as I felt the slow pace actually made the story feel slow this made it difficult to get into.

Great

It's better than the recent comic books. Can't wait to for the sequel to this story.

Really impressed

I wasn't sure what to expect but I really enjoyed the story. I felt it was true to the Buffy story/universe. I am a little disappointed that more questions weren't answered. I'm sure there will be a sequel but there didn't need to be SO many loose ends. Other than that I absolutely loved it!

No Whedon Here

This book did not capture any of Whedon's charm. The main hero is dull and over-powered. The only likeable parts were Willow. Willow is also the only good characterization of canon characters. The book reads like Blake read the description of the characters but has never watched the show. Spike was my favorite canon character and Blake did a horrendous job with his characterization. How do you make William the Bloody boring? Nearly all the aspects of BtVS that made it watchable despite being problematic are missing from this book.

Buffy was always an extremely mature show dealing with tough issues through humor, monsters, and metaphors. This book is a bland, Junior High level read without any depth.

Prime example of what happens when Disney gets ahold of beloved controversial characters.

I need more…

I loved the new “Scooby gang”. I loved having Willow and Oz, and Spike (though they made him sort of a wimpy). I love being back at Sunnydale. I really dislike the narrator. The story is interesting and I’m looking forward to know more about Frankie and growing in her new slayer self. Also, what’s happened with the slayers.

A poor continuation of the Buffy series

This is basically a what would happen if Season 2 Willow was the slayer. Willow having a kid with the energy of the first slayer, leads to an awkward witchy slayer. I was hoping for something that resembled the Show but this is not it. I’d recommend Slayer Kiersten White, it has a similar Buffy vibe.

Buffy Fans Will Enjoy!

I enjoyed this! Fans of the Buffy verse will enjoy this too. I loved the callbacks to characters and events in the Buddy and Angel tv series. I loom forward to the next story in this series.

Captivating!!

As a fan of the comics and tv show, this falls right into place in the buffyverse. The story was well written and the narration was captivating. If you’re a fan of the Buffy franchise i can’t recommend enough.

It was the continuation I didn’t know I needed, and now I need more! Great story, loved that she pulled the original characters in but the new gen has all unique characteristics
