About this listen
Celebrating the 75 anniversary of the original landmark bestseller How to Win Friends and Influence People, comes an up-to-the-minute adaptation of Carnegie’s timeless prescriptions for the digital age.
Dale Carnegie’s principles have endured for nearly a century. Since its original publication in 1936, his timeless classic How to Win Friends and Influence People has gone on to sell 15 million copies. Now, introducing new listeners to Carnegie’s words of wisdom, comes How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age, a new guide for a new era.
Dale Carnegie could never have predicted the trajectory that new media would take, and the ways that the simple television screen would be adapted into computers and handheld communication devices. He didn’t know the term “social media” and Facebook was something not even dreamed of in Buck Rogers cartoons. And yet his lessons remain relevant for everyone who communicates online today. In fact, with problems such as cyber bullying and email etiquette, we need Carnegie’s help more than ever. Dale Carnegie and Associates, Inc. has re-imagined Carnegie’s lasting lessons for this difficult digital age, reframing Carnegie’s insights about communication, self-expression, and leadership. This book is a must-have guide for anyone who wants to find success on Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter, and any social media format today and in the future.

good learning, sloppy math
I've learnt a lot from this book and although the statistical analysis presented is sloppy at best, the points highlighted hold tremendous value. anyone who listens to this book, will change at least one thing in their personality. The narration, at times, unfairly influences the meaning of what others tried to say, making it important to have an objective and critical mindset when listening.

This a complete rework of the original, so be prepared for completely different content
I was expecting minor modifications but most stories and references have been replaced with a la Harvard Business Review style
Much more tactical rather than principled as the original

This is one of the best books I purchased in 2015
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Of cause, YES.
This gave me practical advices which I have tried a few and things change for the better.
What did you like best about this story?
The guidelines stick in my head very easily and I can use them almost everyday with my colleagues and also friends and families.
Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances? How does this one compare?
This is the first one.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I have listened to this 3 times now. The first time I finished in 6-7 days (during my journey to/from work). The 2nd time I finished it in one sitting (on a lazy day at home on a weekend).
The 3rd time I just selected by chapters.
Any additional comments?
I can say this is the best and most useful books I have purchased in years. It's not only very easy to follow and stick in my head, but also the results I got when I tried a few things with my colleagues and friends and I found my days have been much happier (and also theirs, I think).
Even this edition is for "digital age", I would say the advices are timeless. We are still human and the purpose is being happy and making people around us happy.
Highly recommend for anyone

Overall sensible but some questionable guidance
Solid principles of human interaction from the original source reframed in a moderm connected context but... A few principles like getting people to say yes in leading questions to set them up for a close are old sales techniques of questionable merit. Anecdotes are used in place of evidence although the stories they provide help to make the messages stick. Verdict, worth a read but only as part of a healthy diet of contrasting opinions.

Brings the original insights into the modern
Keeps the original insights and puts a modern spin on them, relating them to the modern interconnected world.
