Summary

Are you addicted to wine o'clock? Has that little relaxing treat become a daily routine? Have you tried to cut down and found you can't?

Craig Beck is a well-regarded family man with two children, a lovely home and a successful media career; a director of several companies, and at one time the trustee of a large children's charity, Craig was a successful and functioning professional man in spite of a 'two bottles of wine a night' drinking habit. For 20 years, he struggled with problem drinking, all the time refusing to label himself an alcoholic because he did not think he met the stereotypical image that the word portrayed.

He tried numerous ways to cut down; attempting 'dry months', banning himself from drinking spirits, only drinking at the weekend and on special occasions (and found that it is astonishing how even the smallest of occasions can suddenly become 'special').

All these 'will-power' based attempts to stop drinking failed (exactly as they were destined to do). Slowly he discovered the truth about wine addiction, and one by one, all the lies he had previously believed started to fall apart. For the first time, he noticed that he genuinely did not want to drink anymore. In this audiobook, he will lead you though the same remarkable process.

The Craig Beck method is unique:

  • No need to declare yourself an alcoholic.
  • A permanent cure, not a lifetime struggle.
  • No group meetings or expensive rehab.
  • No humiliation, no pain and 100% no 'will-power' required.
  • Treats the source of the problem, not the symptoms.

A Realistic View of Giving Up

I initially thought this guy would get on my nerves but in the end i really enjoyed the book. There were times when I wondered whether he was trying to persuade me to give up drinking or start taking heroin, but this will all make sense when you listen.
A down to earth, realistic book about the realities of the kinds of problems you will face when giving up alcohol, along with some tools for overcoming them.
A very good read, will be checking out his website next.

For me the best yet

I don’t exactly know why this book resonated with me so well. Nor do I care. I have heard most of it before, yet this time something just clicked . The message sunk in well and truly and I finished the book with a huge sense of excitement, not the feeling that deprivation is around the corner. I’m totally grateful that Craig has sheared his experiences and appreciation much humour as well as shocking but powerfully simple messages. Well done Mr.B 👌

Alcohol - the truth

This book made me question how I saw alcohol and why I drank. I didn't necessarily agree with everything I heard but I did make me reflect on what I did believe in a more open way. I'm now 41 days alcohol free and this book helped

Exceptional words of wisdom Craig Beck.

Really enjoyed this book. Informative and an eye opener. Feel empowered to do what I want to, and not follow the crowd.

Fantastic and Amazing

I never thought i could stop just like that. I have done and I feel amazing and positive. My mood is really happy. Giving up a twenty year habit just suddenly stopped. The great thing is I don't even miss the glass (bottle) of wine after work. I don't even think about it. This really is an incredible turn around. It is all pretty simple advice and just looks at the myths behind the so called benefits of drinking. It simply looks at the truth behind the lies. I then followed this book up with the hypnosis of stopping drinking also by Craig Beck. Amazing.

If you've ever asked yourself if you think you drink too much, then you are. A great read. This book puts you back in the driving seat.

The similarities to how I used to think before I stopped drinking. The honesty from the author.

Fantastic book. I was fortunate enough to have more or less come to the conclusion that alcohol served me no purpose at all anymore. At one point in my life I used to believe it helped. I know I was just an addict with addictive reasoning. Recently I knew stopping drinking was coming but I wasn’t sure when so maybe if I hadn’t listened to this book I may still have been trying to convince myself that I still needed it in my life.
All I can say was I was locking the door on alcohol but this book encouraged me to bolt it shut and throw away the key forever! Something has clicked. Something so fundamental. It’s a change that I can’t describe. …and it’s absolutely wonderful.
