Summary

Grumpy cowboys and steamy romance... Welcome to Chestnut Springs: the big-hitting, small-town series from TikTok sensation Elsie Silver. Perfect for fans of Devney Perry, Lucy Score and B.K. Borison.

Beau Eaton is the town prince, a handsome military hero with a tortured past.

I'm the outcast bartender, a shy girl from the wrong side of the tracks.

He's thirty-five and all man, I'm twenty-two and all...virgin. He's also my fiancé. Correction: my fake fiancé.

We start out as a bet. He doesn't believe that anyone holds my last name against me. So he offers me his to prove a point.

It's a win-win. He gets a break from his concerned family's prying, and I get a chance to shed my family's reputation while I save up to ditch this small town.

He says all I have to do is wear his ring, follow his lead, and pretend I can't keep my hands off of him in public.

But it's what happens between us in private that blurs all those carefully drawn lines...

It's what transpires behind closed doors that doesn't feel like pretending at all...

This engagement was supposed to be for show. This agreement? It has an end date.

He once told me he'd never fall in love.

And yet here I am, head over heels for my fake fiancé.

Such a Touching Story!😢🥰🥵💘

Hopeless: Chestnut Springs, Book 5
By: Elsie Silver
🎧 Audiobook Narrated by: Angelina Rocca and Jason Clarke
Length: 11 hrs and 17 mins
(Read Using Kindle Unlimited)

I loved these narrators together!♥️ Both were perfect for this story and their characters.👏⭐️

Beau returned from his last mission, emotional and physically scarred.😢 He's struggling to find his place back in his hometown or even on the family ranch! Bailey is from what the town has deemed as a family of 'trash'! She's actually nothing like them. She is a wonderful, caring, empathetic person. She works really hard and just wants the same treatment everyone else is afforded. Unfortunately, she's tarred with her family's brush, and it's only a few that treat her with kindness!💔

Beau gets put in his place by her after he's very rude, whilst drunk, to older man who is her friend. After he's sobered up and made amends, he discovers Bailey feels her last name holds her back in their town. So he suggests they get engaged until she leaves town, just to prove her wrong!💍

She isn't wrong, and they fall awkwardly in love with a 13-year age gap. This was at times cute, uncomfortable, romantic, hot as hell, and laugh out loud funny, all rolled together to make up this emotionally scarred pairs' hea!😁💘
This has a great audiobook.🎧

Fabulous end to the series!

I’ve adored this series and devoured Hopeless in two days. You absolutely need to read this series - heartwarming, funny, sexy, the books are so well written and narrated. I’d give more than five stars if I could!

this book gave me the ICK

I was really excited to read beau's story after reading the whole series then I read this an was disappointed I found his funny wit didn't come across at all in this book unstandable as the story was Ptsd related but still and Bailey was really annoying boo hoo no one likes me like get over she came across like a pre teen not a 22 year old with the stupid questions also missed the other eatons in this book throughout the other 4 books there were lots of encounters with the family and not so much here damn I missed Harvey's inappropriateness

Just weird…

I had been excited about this book having really enjoyed the rest of the series. Unfortunately, Elsie Silver really missed the mark for me on this one. I couldn’t relate to Bailey at all. I’m not a fan of the virgin trope anyway but this just had me cringing throughout. Age gap romances don’t usually bother me but the constant mentions of Bailey’s young age and Beau’s protectiveness over her just made me think of a father-daughter relationship which was just wrong on so many levels in my head when combined with their odd sexual encounters. Some of the things Bailey said to Beau were just plain bizarre rather than funny or endearing. I felt that the lack of contact with the rest of the Eatons left a big hole in the story too. Like, where was Harvey? Virtually nonexistent. The whole book just made me feel icky and weirded out. Gutted that a great series ended like that.

Disappointing

I really liked the series thus far, however, this one just made me feel very uncomfortable. The whole couple dynamic was way off, in my opinion. I don't mind age-gap- romance at all, but this left me feeling grossed out.
