Summary

He needs someone to work with his son. She needs a job. They need to keep their hands to themselves.

Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.

This is Mark's story....

Single dad of Seattle Dr. Mark Herron can't believe anyone would celebrate their divorce. The dissolution of his marriage left him and his son with a huge hole to fill in their home - and their hearts. So when he overhears a lovely stranger and her friends celebrating the end of her marriage, he's mystified - and then intrigued - by her determination to put the past behind her. But when he learns that Tori Jones needs a job, he knows this can't be a coincidence.

Tori might be telling the world nothing's got her down, but the truth is she's hit rock bottom. Her husband didn't just cheat on her, he took all her money, including her college fund, which means her marriage is over, and so is her dream to go to grad school and help children with special needs. So when a handsome stranger offers her a job caring for his special needs son, she knows she can't turn it down...

Even if what she's feeling for Mark is far from professional.

Now Mark's finding it hard to keep his hands to himself, and Tori's struggling to keep her thoughts from straying to dangerous territory. Will they be able to keep their distance from each other, or will being hired by the sexy single dad be Tori's biggest problem of all?

Note: This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and, of course, as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

Seattle Single Dads book 1

Hired By The Single Dad.
The Single Dads of Seattle book#1 by Whitney Cox. Narration by Allyson Voller and Zachary Johnson.

This is the start of a group of single dads and their club which focuses on making it work with their kids while commiserating over Poker once a week in a setting of support and camaraderie. This Mark’s story.

Mark just happened to be in the bar where Tori is with her friends celebrating her divorce being final. Kudos for Mark because he approaches the group of women to buy them drinks. After finding out Tori is looking for a new job and has the skills needed for his son Gabe he comes up with a plan to hire her. He doesn’t let Tori know that the position he has in mind for her is for him and Gabe.
Gosh I really loved the pull of attraction these two have from the start. Tori is so good for Gabe getting him out of his shell right away.

This was an emotionally charged book that was realistic and captivated while we follow along with the miscommunication and see these two come to realize they are great together. So yes a HEA is just waiting for you!

I listened to the audiobook version of this book. Zachary was able to show me how Mark felt and there was places with his son that had me bawling and also routing for him and Gabe too. Allyson had me routing for Tori and I really enjoyed hearing her stand up for herself.

I think I’m going to love this series with single dads. ❣️

Great single Dad romance

Mark was attracted to Tori the minute his eyes landed on her when she was out with friends celebrating her separation from her cheating ex. She told him she worked with children with ASD and he told her his friend was looking for someone for his son but he lied and it was Mark who was looking for someone. The chemistry between them was there from the start and when they gave in to it sparks flew then things happened and Mark fired her saying some awful things to her. Can Tori forgive all the things he said to her in anger or will she tell him to get lost.

Hired by the Single Dad

What a perfect romance. Falling in love with your boss is definitely not what is supposed to happen but luckily the boss feels the same way. And when you add a child into the mix it just makes a perfect story to listen to. I loved all the characters in this book and the way it was written flowed beautifully.

Tori and Mark!

Tori’s cheating ex-husband has not only destroyed her happy ever after, but he has also put her professional dreams on hold as well. When her friends convince her to attend a girls night out she never expected that a fellow patron could give her hope for the future.

Mark has a painful past of his own when it comes to love and marriage and is now a single father to his son Gabe. When he finds out she wants to pursue a career in special education and he needs someone to help care for his son it seems like the perfect arrangement. Will they be able to deny the chemistry between them and overcome their pasts?

Mark and Tori take us on an emotional journey as they fight for a second chance at love and the secondary characters leave us wanting their stories as well. The performance of the narrators draw you in to the characters and the emotions they are feeling which only made this book that much better. 🎧The Flock

Relatable characters, great narration

This was the first book I've listened to by Whitley Cox, and I'm interested in listening to more. As a single parent who's been through a divorce, I was able to relate to many of the characters. It would have liked a little more humor to make it a solid 5. It was predictable, but still good. I also appreciated the inclusion of an autistic character.

Zachary Johnson was a new narrator for me. He and Allyson Voller did a great job and I would listen to them both again.

I thoroughly enjoyed Hired by The Single Dad

I was so taken with Hired By The Single Dad and enjoyed every moment of this excellent romance.

Single father, Dr Mark Herron overhears a group of ladies celebrating one of their divorces (or rather separations.) He cannot understand why one would celebrate getting divorced so when his curiosity gets the better of him he strikes up a conversation with the wonderful Tori. After speaking to her he realises that in spite of how drawn he is to her, she has the right qualifications and she would be idea to work with his son, who has autism.

I honestly adored Tori, Mark and his son Gabe. I appreciated the representation of autism and how Gabe was very much a child who happens to face the challenges of autism rather than it defining his character.

Of course, a great dad is absolutely swoon-worthy and Mark is a great dad, not to mention that he is a sexy, considerate Doctor too. Tori is such a sweet, considerate person and despite them both having been stung by their marriages, their draw to each other is smoking hot.

This audiobook really was the whole package. The immensely talented Allyson Voller and Zachary Johnson did an amazing job of bringing the story to life. Everything about their performance was spot on. All of the emotions and personalities came across in their performances.

I will definitely be listening to more books from this series.
