Summary

For this Jersey girl, big hair means big trouble!

Newspaper reporter Colleen Caruso just wants her unruly curls tamed into smooth, sleek locks. Instead, she finds her stylist dead, facedown in a shampoo sink. Faster than you can say Aqua Net, Colleen starts investigating. The case gets even hairier when the owner of a local fitness studio seems to have jumped from a plane...without a parachute.

Meanwhile, her suave editor, Ken Rhodes, steps in to help. And he may be looking for more than just a good story from Colleen.

Add in a missing bracelet, some suspicious husbands, and a little breaking and entering—and this Jersey girl is heading for a real blowout!

Can Colleen tie up these split ends? Or does she have an appointment with disaster?

Don't hide from this fun mystery

Don't hide from this fun quirky mystery because I personally loved it. This is book two in the series and I enjoyed the first book but it does work as a standalone. The characters are fun and work well together, I especially liked the attitude of the daughter and the way she reacted to the situations her mother got into was hilarious. The mystery was good and I was no where near guessing the out come or who the killer was. It contained a number of twists, as solving one murder wasn't good enough for this author, this meant there was a lot going on from investigating to even a love interest and the story moved along quickly. I also liked the fact that the main character was a reporter, so not only did she get into different and difficult situations investigating but also sent out of other stories to keep it interesting. It's also set up nicely for the next book and I can't wait for it to come out.

Colleen fed up with her curly hair and books an appointment with the best hairdresser in town to straighten it. Unfortunately she arrives to find dead body. As a free lance reporter she get to cover not only the murder from a personal perspective but also has to find time to do a fluff piece on a sponsor for the paper who offer flying lessons. While out in the very small plane, a place Colleen would rather be anywhere else, she discovers another body. The two widows are best friends and Colleen starts looking for a connection. Can she discover what happened to both woman and just how far will she be willing to go to make sure she gets a permanent job offer at the paper? And will it be worth it?
I liked the narrator. She used her voice well to not only make the story interesting but to give a voice to each and every character.
