So, patience is needed but boy let me tell you...

This book drags at points and I started to return the book but before that thought was completed the story enthralled me to the end. Plot twist nope more like plot twister! So, so good. Looking forward to books 2 & 3.

Wow, so gripping and mind blowing

This was an awesome listen. characters are great, story line was out of this world, narration was spot on. really makes you believe that for every action there is a reaction, and they continue on.

Over The Top

Although I thought the writing was very good, I did not appreciate the over the top story. Narration I thought was excellent, but again dragged through a painful & exaggerated plot. With everything people have been though for the past 4 years, I do not feel this book helped anyone in any way. Having to suffer from one evil relationship to another only left me not enjoying this book. There is enough evil in the world without authors inventing it up . Sorry, I just hope I don't dream about some of the plots.

Truly a great listen

Gregg Olsen is one of the best authors!

This book was switch back and switch here and not too many clues to figure out the ending too soon.

The characters were very well developed and Karen Peakes narration brought them to life!!!

EXCELLENT START TO A GREAT SERIES!!

I love the twists and turns in this well written book but then...I've been a Gregg Olsen fan for a long, long time. Karen Peakes does a good job of bringing the characters to life. I wish I had reviewed this title before I listened to the other two books in the series. Had I done that, I could have been a little more explicit with detailing what I liked most about the story. I can only tell you that Emily Kenyon is a strong woman that will be fun to follow.

Every woman sounds like a Valley Girl with breathing problems

Great story. Stay with it. It starts out slow. The narrator struggles doing younger female and older male voices. They sounded like they had breathing problems.

Good story

I good story I would listen to again, but am I the only one who is irritated by a female trying to do a man's voice and doing it very badly? Or vice versa? I was so distracted by the hoarse, raspy male voice imitations that I had to rewind again and again to hear the story. Also a few mispronunciations that caught me off guard with the same result. But otherwise performed with the feeling and the emotions missing from other books I've listened to.

Wanted to Love It but the ending....

Through many parts of the book I was hopeful for what I thought it could be. The ending felt way too over the top to match the rest of the story. It was a bit disappointing.
