Summary

Dora Preston has guts, but it will take more than that for her to break free from Hedderby and make a life for herself on the stage. Then she meets Gideon - and pursuing her ambitions becomes even harder.

Gideon has returned from the fighting in India only to discover that an impostor has stolen his inheritance. He has vowed he will claim his birthright, but his enemies are ruthless and desperate. Arson attacks, crime and drunkenness have beset the Lancashire mill town, but the forces of goodness are rallying and are determined to prevail, whatever it takes.

Absolutely loved it

Anna Jacobs has an amazing skill of bringing every character in her book to life .Everyone interesting and with plots and subplots that hold you interest throughout.I was not going to read the Music Hall Series ,but to my delight it was definitely one of her best with this book ,the fourth being the best .An awesome author in this genre .

A Brilliant Story

This was another wonderful story by Anna Jacobs and read beautifully by Anne Dover - loved the Irish accents. I’m sure anyone listening to this story will throughly enjoy it.

A wonderful series of captivating stories.

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to these stories involving the setting up of a music hall and the revealing lives of mill workers and their families. All are beautifully narrated and exciting to hear how the characters developed as the stories unfurled..

Brilliant!

It was great. For the first one I said that I thought that in my opinion I found it a bit to long, but I take that back!
I think that all four books are perfect! perfect in length, and writing and narration and the stories are all really interesting.
thanks very much.👍.
