A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

Possibly it's not to save a pair of drowning girls, not go 'viral' on social media and certainly not to let the local police take your passport, trapping you on a small 'party' island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. But Steve isn't the average guy, he's ex-military, ex-enforcer and ex-human. He's a one man nanite fuelled nightmare for those that cross the line, and he's decided that its time to clean up his act. He's going to make up for the things he's done, and save 'the little guys'.

Summary
The world teeters on the brink of destruction.
The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned.
The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face.
Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Lazy, looping, and doesn't go anywhere.
Short. Repeats the same descriptions and cruxes over and over. It's also the shortest book of the series and this book could easily be half as long again if the author just stayed on point and only explained whatever the single time. I also have a serious issue with the direction (or lack of) the series has been suffering with in the last two books. Sure, the character has something he's meant to be chasing but it's barely heading to it or suddenly rushed. This one has been a bit of a joke.
Honestly, it feels like the author is artificially extending the life of the series to its detriment.

it felt rushed and....
Well... the books have nearly halved in size, I found the plot lacking the detail it has had previously and it just feels like they are rushing towards the end, eager to get there but I feel like we will be disappointed when we do.
I love the series and I am eager to carry on but I am enjoying the books less as they progress.

Real Disappoinment
There's almost no story progression or character development in this. I could have comfortably been a 2 hour section of the end previous book. I would also like some sort of heads up if you are going to have 2 hours of epilogue at the end like this book has. It was pretty lame to have what little story did happen just stop with 2 hours still to go.

Even though this book was much shorter than previous ones, it finally managed to finish of Jason’s time on earth. Heath miller has a wonderful voice for this and is perfect. This book picks right from where last finished and I hope it does that again in the next as I would have loved to have found out what happened to Gary and the other meeting Dawn. Overall, this was very well written though a bit short compared to others in the series. Can’t wait for the next instalment

It felt like half of a book.
I’ve raved about this whole series so far, but this one wasn’t at all what I expected. This felt rushed. It was almost like a filler episode. It’s got to be hard to set up events as well as this author has, this was like listening to two parts of the series in fast forward. If anything this would have been better released at the end of book 5, not a separate book entirely.
I ultimately enjoyed it because Heath Miller is flawless this whole series. As a whole though, this to me felt like it was supposed to be the end of book 5, but they couldn’t decide how to slice this part of the series up. The first 3 part of the series was seamless, this wasn’t terrible, just odd. It was almost like he got bored writing about Jason on earth or something and threw book 6 in the microwave and said “screw it”.

The Book Leading Nowhere
No story. No character growth. Travis Deverell definitely should have left out 90% of those scenes. It was just filler. It was interesting filler, but none of it moved the story forward.
The end of book 5 left Jason ready to tie up a few loose ends, then head to another planet. That's what I expected in book 6.
Instead, he wrote an entire book to tie up a few loose ends. He could have done it with one chapter. What a useless addition to an otherwise stellar series.

Read books 7, 8, and 9 right now!
I was low key pissed this book was under 16 hours. My entire disposition changed when I found out the reason. I wasn't aware this was a web series, or even what a web series was. I sat down at my computer desk and looked it up . I was hit with a huge dopamine rush, and sat stunned. In a web series chapters are released weekly... and there are 213 more chapters to read RIGHT NOW!
I love the performance audio books provide, and will still buy every book coming out in this series. I am glad I started with the audio books, only recently switching to the web series. I can hear the way each character is speaking while reading. I never would have gotten the various accents right. The accents aren't just icing on the cake to me. It's the medley of flavors and textures that elevate a store bought cake to something you would get in a Michelin star restaurant.
This audiobook did feel like half a book to me, other reviews aren't wrong. Having now continued the story through the web series I can understand why the book stopped where it did. Luckily for everyone avidly devouring this series on audible you don't have to wait months for another book. You can continue your journey with Jason today!

Missed Opportunity, looking forward to better.
I love this series, enough so that I overlook the tireless political diatribe. However, this story arc with the MC on Earth started so well and then fizzled out at the end. I won't spoil things in the story but the choices made by important people in the last few books, while justifiable and plausible, just feel like such a let down. It probably says a lot that the part of the book I enjoyed the most was the Epilogue chapters. The hook at the end of the book is fine, if blatantly obvious, but after a real trudge through the author seemingly just trying up loose ends, it rings weak and hollow. Book 5 was decent, I was hoping this one would get us bad to Great, but the best I can say is that I hope the story picks back up with the next one or that's going to be the end of the series for me personally. Narrator did an awesome job as always!

When I first looked at the length of the book, I was a little concerned, I was even more concerned with the length of the End Credits. The last 5 minutes of the End Credits, you know and don't know what's going to happen. You want to know more and the ending leaves you wanting more. Awesome
This just came out, and I am so eager for the next one. It ended on such a high note.
This book is a bit more focused on a few specific events, dedicating a lot of time to them, but they are loaded with amazing details and what is most likely huge plot foreshadowing.
If you have reached this point in the series, this one is a must read. Each arc is set into trilogies, so be ready for some amazing big reveals and a lot of Jason being Jason.
Oh and keep an eye out for Tom Bombadil

this book dropped at midnight and i have enjoyed it. well worth the wait. one major gripe i have is how long it isnt. i wish it was longer. in comparison to the other books this one feels short

only half a book sort of.....
I love the series. and have been let down by this book. its really only half a book and the entire book is pretty much a repeat of the beginning of the book repeating itself with a bunch of useless introspection we have already been over again and again to add filler. if u read chapters 1 through 10 u have read about 90% of the book. very disappointed.

Always look forward to these
The narrator always adds to this series for me. Our boy goes through a lot, some heart wrenching moments in this one.
