Shirtaloon has done ot again!

At first I was hesitant about the setting for this book, but honestly it is a fantastic read. I'm only sad that I'll have to wait so long for the next book to come out!

Yet another kill book

I found this one to be a bit more slow paced than the other 3, But that is due to the world building which is good. He who fights with monster is the only book I find myself still listening to after getting back from work. I will sit there and just listening to it getting nothing done. If that is not a sign of a good book then I don't know what is, To keep me hooked and not want to stop listening is a good thing.

The story is good, We learn a lot of of what is going on and what is at stake. Jason family is a right laugh some you will not like but others you will love. But it is written in that way and believe able as well. I can't recommend this series enough to people its worth a listen

More of what we love and know

I am far more into this series of books than i ever thought i would be, with this being my first LITRPG it took some getting used to the format... Saying that Heath Miller could sell me an empty banana skin for all I care i could listen to his dozens of characters brought to life thru this journey which is nothing short of fantastic. Okay maybe a little short....
Jason is of course the main meat of the book and i very much enjoyed his development!!
*spoiler alert* Got to say though...... whilst Earth having magic has been implemented well, the Cabal, Network and EOA are very fleshed out - this i loved and i can't wait to get more!
Jason's family however... I think Shirtaloon has got far to lost in everyday fettlings of everyone uncle Hiro and co are brilliant but the fact that 50% of the book is about Erica scorning Jason and is tiring... frankly second time around I skipped some of it.
Overall this is gold, would recommend it to anyone fan of the series but by far the least favourite of mine. It's a necessary evil i get it - but i wish we have had at least a couple, a measly few chapters or even paragraphs of storytelling of Greenstone! would have broken up the monotony of "magic is real and I don't have time for this and that" Shade is singlehandedly keeps this together as him and Jason are the only semblance of a team we have come to know and LOVE in the previous 3 books. (that is untill Farah joins the ranks)
The banter is here with Taika and Farah, Vermillion and some others are fun sure, but having spent 3 books to flesh out a very colourful cast only to leave them all in distant memory is not to my liking.

I am however looking forward to the continuation nevertheless!
I bear no grudges or anything it is NOT a bad book, not by a long shot!

Here's to another dozen of these!
G'day

Great series

A great series, I've gone through this in about 12 days. I know the story goes far ahead of what's been recorded and I hope they continue to release them fairly quickly. sometimes a little detail heavy on abilities but I'm not a gamer and people may like that more who are. Good humour and well performed really enjoyable.
