Summary

Ha'ven Ha'darra is the Crown Prince of the Curizans, an advanced species known for their technology. They may not have the power to shift like the Valdier or the Sarafin, but they have hidden powers of their own that they closely guard. Not even his best friends, Creon Reykill of the Valdier or Vox d'Rojah of the Sarafin, are aware of the powers he holds within his deadly frame.

Ha'ven is happy to help out his Valdier friend when he calls. There are only two things that satisfy the restlessness inside him - a good fight and an even better evening with a hot, willing female. He has no desire to settle down like his two friends have. He enjoys having his freedom and the wide sample of females at his disposal.

All of that changes when he catches a glimpse of the delicate beauty who looks through him as if he doesn't even exist. His blood calls to her, his magic aches to meld with hers, but she blocks his every advance.

Emma Watson's life was perfect. Her love for music and dance let her escape the overwhelming shyness that she suffered from all her life. When she is invited to travel with a group to South America, she believes it is the perfect chance to discover who she can really be. Everything changes when she is kidnapped by a powerful drug lord. Beaten and forced to watch the torture and murder of other women, she withdraws into the world she feels safest - the one inside herself.

When she is rescued by creatures not of this world, they heal her physical wounds, but cannot touch the ones deep inside her. She has given up on ever returning to her world and has little hope for the future. No woman has ever turned Ha'ven Ha'darra down and he isn't about to accept his mate doing it. Now, he just has a few extra problems to overcome. Her Valdier protectors have given him six months to change her mind about wanting to return to them. Can he unlock her magic in time to save their love or will the traitor, determined to kill them, destroy her before he can?

OK but not for me

I haven't read any of this series before and I wont again. It's not me.
I realise now that it is an offshoot of 'Dragon Lord of Valdier'. Saving women from evil and them falling completely in love with their rescuers.
In this story Emma Watson is recovering from PTSD, she is kidnapped and falls for her abductor.
I read to the end but I won't be buying any more of these books, they are just not me.

Where was David Brenin???!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Ha’ven’s Song to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version. But I have to say that the voice performance was not as good as David Brenins. Instead of a sexy alien, I heard cavemen. The story was wonderful, but the men did not come off as passionate warriors. They came off as Neanderthals. I did enjoy the story, but i would have enjoyed it more with the sexy accents Mr. Brenin infused.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It was hard to have a favorite character, because most of the voices came off as primitive beings.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of P. J. Ochlan?

David Brenin

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

For the story, yes. For the performance, no.

Power of Ha'ven's Song!

Where does Ha’ven’s Song rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The story was very good, enjoyed it greatly. So far I have listened to it 2 times.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ha’ven’s Song?

Too many to just pick one. I felt for Emma, but I felt more for Ha'ven. His struggle was epic.

Which character – as performed by P. J. Ochlan – was your favorite?

I think Ha'ven was my best character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Well I would love to say any book deserves to be listened to in one setting, but life interferes.

Any additional comments?

The narrator was pretty intense and forceful and sometimes came across as angry, he just needs to tone it down and feel the characters more.

So Good but the Narrator

I am addicted to these books they are all so Amazing but this one has a new narrator and he's changed all the voices and not in a good way. The book is one of the best and I can't wait for the next one, however please bring back the original narrator she is so good plus she makes the story come come to life. Still the book was outstanding!!!!

Just because you are not used to it doesnt mean it is bad.
The narration is great. The story is as usual good.

Love S.E. Smith Books! This Narrator Not So Much!

First of all I love all of S.E. Smith's books. Especially, how she combines and weaves so many different books and characters together. In regards to this book..I am just listening to the first few minutes, and I can't listen to anymore. The narrator sounds like he is giving me a Dateline news report rather than one of S.E. Smith's awesome books. I am just going to have to read this one instead of listening to it.

Narrator Ruined it for me

I enjoy all of S.E. Smith's books but I couldn't get past the narrator. This one felt completely different and I think it was the narrator that changed the entire feel of the story for me. Sorry, not a fan of this narrator and it interfered with the story.

Great Story...that narrator though!

I laughed out loud countless times due to not the author’s comical writing but the narration. The voices ranged from caveman to angry Cookie Monster to dumb surfer dude. The female voices were bad as well. Where was David?!

Bad audio, skipping words.

Am I the only one who’s having an audio problems? It skipping and barely understand some words that gets cut out when the narrator speaks. I know S.E. Smith is a great writer but I’m not sure what just happened to the audiobook and the narrator throws me off from one character to another’s, lost of not knowing who’s speaking..

Didn't Finish

The author repeated the same thing, over and over at least four times in the first five to ten minutes. The narrator was great, but the writing didn't hold my attention. Instead of garnering a sense of urgency, it was boring.

Pretty Solid

I enjoyed this book for the most part. The story and narrator was pretty good. My only grievance is how angry Emma was to be taken and in one day she had sex with her captor. She gave in so easily after suffering from ptsd and not eating and talking for weeks. I believe the author should have written her to be more standoffish for a while to make the story more believable. Otherwise, good story.
