About this listen

Medalon has surrendered to foreign invaders, Tarja is once more an outcast, the Defenders have scattered…and their only hope is Damin Wolfblade. But Damin has his own problems - the High Prince is dead, so Damin must lift the siege on the Hythrun capital and defeat a usurper before he can come to Medalon's aid.

For R'shiel, time is running out. She must find a way to bring peace to the divided southern nations, to free Medalon from Karien occupation, and to find the strength to put an end to Loclon. And she has finally accepted her destiny as the Demon Child, which means she must be the one to defeat Xaphista - soon, before the Harshini are destroyed. But how can she kill a god?

Critic reviews

"As in Medalon (2004) and Treason Keep (2004), the capricious gods are part of the mix, and now intrigue and counterintrigue become even more complicated. The battles are fierce, the losses heartrending in Fallon's beautifully created world, whose disparate inhabitants are once again completely convincing, making Harshini a chilling, thrilling conclusion to the trilogy." A Masterful Performance :-))

If you could sum up Harshini in three words, what would they be?

Super. Wonderful. Brilliant.

What did you like best about this story?

That would take too long to say.

What does Imogen Church bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Imogen Church infused this whole series with a wonderful sense of drama, humor and character. My only regret is that Ms Church hasn't narrated any other books that I would want to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Unfortunately pesky things like sleeping, eating and generally living intrude on pleasures like these :-))

Any additional comments?

I have truly enjoyed this performance of a series I read many years ago. I was, as always when starting an audio book, nervous about the narrator spoiling a well loved tale. In this case I had no need to worry. Imogen Church rendered a truly masterful performance of this series. Thank you Ms Church. I wish she had also narrated the Wolfblade series too.

Loved It

I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy, even though one or two situations were, in my opinion, too transparent for the listener not to see through them. Nevertheless, it was a good trilogy; I only hope Audible will not allow a lapse in the ending of the Hythrun Chronicles as I see no sign of the War of the Gods trilogy in the pipeline. Come on Audible there is no point starting a series if you are not prepared to finish it. The Emperor’s Blade is one such series in point with two books missing.
