Story
1231 A.D. After a nasty skirmish along the England/Scotland border at Bog Wood, a badly wounded knight has crawled off to die. As women from the Clan Scott fan out across the battlefield to collect the spoils of war, one woman breaks off from the pack. She is sickened by the tradition of stealing valuables off the dead and runs off to hide. In her hiding place, however, lingers the badly wounded knight. The young woman is frightened at first but her natural instinct to lend aid takes over. She tends the knight and saves his life.

Story
It’s a new generation of de Wolfe Pack cubs, carrying on the tradition of their illustrious grandfather. Thomas “Tor” de Wolfe has his hands full with battling women and battling enemies as he secures a border castle for Edward I. Chaos is the name of the game! Tor married, and lost, his wife at a young age. Because his wife was an orphan, he inherited her two sisters when they wed and when she died, they became his responsibility.
Summary
1066 A.D. - Discover the origins of the original de Wolfe pack, led by the man known as Warwolfe. Before the Duke of Normandy conquered England, a legend arose. A man so fierce, so brave, and so noble, that the mere whisper of his name could strike both fear and admiration into the hearts of all men. That name is Warwolfe. Gaetan de Wolfe is this man.
A legend from a family of legends, the greatest de Wolfe warrior arises as William the Conqueror sets foot in England to claim what he believes is his birthright. Gaetan brings with him nine of the fiercest knights the realm has ever seen, plowing their way into the English countryside, forging their legacies at the Battle of Hastings. But when one of Gaetan's men is kidnapped by the rogue brother of the Earl of Mercia, Gaetan refuses to let his man go. His loyalty to his men is above all. A rescue mission of epic proportions begins. Guiding the original de Wolfe Pack on this task into deadly enemy territory is a lady warrior known as Ghislaine of Mercia. The sister of the man who kidnapped Gaetan's knight, her loyalties are torn. Wary of the big Norman knight with the fierce manner, her attraction to Gaetan is nonetheless undeniable. There is a spark between them that refuses to die. Together, Gaetan and Ghislaine embark on a dangerous adventure where myths are revealed, loyalties are tested, and where a growing passion between them becomes all-consuming. Live the legend.

This is the storey of Gaeton and Ghislane and how she helped the Norman warrior to rescue Christophe De Lohr. The story is good but long winded and I have to say that the narrator drove me nuts I have the book and that is enough if you can get past the shocking accents it’s decent!

Fantastic!
I loved this! I enjoy Kathryn Le Veque's books, well, most of them anyway. I don't read her modern stuff, but I love her medieval romances. I am however a HUGE fan of Brad Wills, and he did his usual flawless job on Warwolfe. So worth the credit!
Gaetan was a usual KLV hero, big, macho male, but pious and honourable. Ghislaine was a kickass girl who could take care of herself but was lonely and damaged inside, and they complemented each other so well.
I love it! This is one that I listen to again.

41/2 stars for being a romance with little Romance
This is A well written, well narrated, interesting historical tale. I enjoyed it so much that I listened to it straight through ; couldn't even stop listening to go to sleep. My only complaint is the classification as a romance. There is a small part of the story that focuses on a romance but, the main plot is about A tight nit group of Norman nights.
There is one small very mild sex scene so if the intense sex scenes bother you, this is a book for you. It is a good feel story but not a true historical romance like what is usually written, in modern times.

simply fantastic!
When I started the book I was not sure if I can keep up with all the names and characters especially since they were all similar and I am bad with names. However, once the first ten minutes had passed the main story began and it was extremely well written and imaginative. Although a long story I did not want it to end when it eventually did. The heroine's character was a bit unbelievable and head strong for the time period but I tried to overlook that fact. The nickname "little mouse" given to her by De Wolfe was so adorable and although the heroine's character was unbelievable, the hero's was superbly written as it showed the both sides of his character. The rough and merciless and the kind, loving and protective side.
The narrator was good and with as many characters involved in the storyline he tried to give each it's own voice however some were not as good especially the heroine's. I also was not sure why there were Scott and Italian accents but regardless the hero's voice was masculine and deep and sexy and overall wonderful.
Do not hesitate to buy this book!!!

Historical Fiction At Its Best
The prologue and epilogue find Abigail in present time working towards her PhD in Medieval Studies, and her thesis is based on an ancient text that has slipped the notice of historians. In 1066, Gaetan de Wolfe fights at the Battle of Hastings and finds the warrior sister-in-law of he dead King of England. Ghislaine of Mercia is bound to the Warwolfe when one of the pack is taken hostage. The narrator adds depth to the story with the varied male voices.

Terrible narration
I might have liked this book more if I had read it, but I listened to it instead. I listen to many audio books. A good narrator can lift a good book into a wonderful experience. But this narrator was one of the worst I've ever come across. The crazy accents he used, especially on the female characters, were so awful as to render the dialogue as nearly unintelligible. And the accents were totally unnecessary. The main male character didn't have a crazy accent, so why impose one on the main female character? Made no sense nor did it serve the story in any meaningful way. Don't waste your time or money on this audio book.

I will make these characters live again...
Ok, so before I went ahead and spent my very precious credits, I read the reviews. Ok, for those that like sex upon sex in their novels, this is not the book for you. I have been reading romance novels for more the thirty years and wall, after awhile I would skip those "sex" pages. I mean really, how many ways can you actually do it without it being repetitive, sorry. I learned my history on the pages of romance novels and I KNOW a romance novel when I am reading it. This is one. Although, she (the Author) introduced it a bit different, it was still about them, about their feelings, about their relationship with a whole lot of other crap going on. I love that, I loved how she combined them and I am a continued fan of this Author.
