Summary

It’s never a good combo to be broke and desperate. You do stupid things. Like accidentally sign your soul over to hell.

When I interviewed for a new security job, I didn’t bat an eye that it was for a literal graveyard shift...headstones and all. I mean, at the hourly rate they were offering, who cares? I got this.

Turns out, I’m not guarding a graveyard like I thought. It seems I’ve just walked my broke ass into protecting a gate to hell. Yeah...I don’t got this.

Now I’m stuck in a terrifying new reality: a group of hot demons who act like I can solve all their problems, and a battle between good, evil, and balance.

This will seriously teach me to read the fine print on help wanted ads. Good thing this job comes with a scythe. Maybe I can use it to stop them from dragging my ass into hell.

What a cliff hanger!

I loved this book, it was an exciting premise and I wasn't disapointed as I started listening, the characters were amazing although it took me a while to warm up to Delta, she was a bit too whiney for my taste, but plenty of action and some great plot twists, and boy was it steamy - I had to wipe my glasses off!

So good

Delta has the grit and determination of Vinna from Ivy’s Lost Sentinel series and the humour and charm of Emelle from Raven’s Heart Hassle series which results in one kick ass FMC. I just loved listening to this and Delta and her stab a man cootie stick comment really had me almost peeing my pants 😂 . I love how her men are quite understanding of the fact she has been thrown in the deep end after being told she’s not just a mere mortal , well all except Jerreth who’s a bit of an arse with her. Oh and I wish I could have half the dream she had , who knew shadows could do things like that 😜 Emma did a great job narrating and I can’t wait for book 2 Ivy and Raven make a winning duo.

As good the second time around

Am listening to Grave Mistakes the for the second time in a few months, and it is as good as before. A story written with intelligence and wit, perfectly setup with interesting worldbuilding and plenty of ideas, put forward in such a way that it never lets the reader/listener down and holds the interest from beginning to the end.
There are times when I wish the story wasn´t set up as a harem story, not that that part isn´t good on it´s own, but these authors are just that good. Their story could stand on it´s own feet without it, and maybe get more recognition? But also then we would miss on the harem part, so feel free to ignore me there. I absolutely love all the characters in the book, so bad bad idea. Thoroughly enjoyable listen, love how the authors handle their text, characters, worldbuilding and plots. And while I love a good story, I enjoy a well written story even more. This one is all that.

Hate pathetic females? AVOID

Female constantly falling over, makes stupid decisions and brain automatically goes to sex. First book achieves nothing in regards to plot and character development.

Ugh

Proceed with caution. This book seems really great.... then you get to kmow the main character and for me she is infuriating. She does nothing and has tantrums at every turn. The story has potential but Delta is a child qhos supposed to be almost 30. I hate her panic attacks at EVERYTHING and the fact that she can do nothing when its all falling apart is just disappointing. Im trying book 2 and I just started and she already had another tantrum. Im not holding much hope but am giving it a try.

The main character ruined a good story.

Imagine a 4-year-old stumbles into the world of demons and can't leave. That's how this book felt, except the main character, Delta, is supposedly 28 years old, not 4. It's got lots of tears, angry tantrums, the-world-revolves-around-me syndrome, all the stupid questions, more tears and SO MUCH COMPLAINING!! The only redeemable character was the one who was a total jerk to Delta, because that's the only reasonable reaction to a fully grown adult acting like a toddler. The reason I gave 2 stars is because the narrator did a decent job and the plot had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, Delta did her best to ruin everything good about this book, so I can't in good conscience recommend it.

Story is background to her lustful thoughts.

The story would be good if it was more about it than her wanting to do every man around her constantly. I stopped listening so I don’t know if this turns into a reverse harem or what but I really would rather have the good story I thought it was.

If you like every other word to be #%!#!

Storyline is good. Narration is good. MC cusses like a gutter wench, lol. Cusses so much that you start to only hear the bad words she uses instead of an actual dialogue. I am not prudish by any means. But so much cussing makes me think you couldn’t think of dialogue and threw in filler cuss words. Not sure I can listen to book two.

Overall, loved the book

Loved the book. I'll be very curious to read more since it ended on a huge plot reveal. I didn't love how the main protagonist panicked every. Single. Time. I get why the first couple times, but after that I found it a smidge over done.

Narrator is not my fave

Narration: she over emphasizes p’s, t’s, b’s...it grates on the nerves after awhile. Otherwise, she does okay.

Story: the FMC is supposed to be 28. She is written more like a naive and immature 19/20 year old. Biggest piece lacking (for me) was the storyline development. There’s a LOT of her monologging in her head and it felt more like filler than substance. Enjoyed the story idea.

Very slow burn on the romance side.

For real....

The end of this book is the worst cliff hanger. They dint even bother to end well. They meet there page quota and was like and we good. The start of book two isn't gonna be its own story just gonna pick up at the at the end but not in a this what we did last, but in a I am running for my life. So salty at this ending. Well rounded cliff hangers are a thing, but not here. So get ready to have 2 credits available.

Ridiculous main character

This is the kind of storyline that perpetuates stereotypes around women being stupid, childlike helpless burdens that need to be taken care off.
The author actually manages to write pretty well, and the story concept is great, but her views on what constitutes an interesting main character is sadly missing the mark.
Just couldn’t stand another tantrum so gave up on the book.
