been a long time fan of the series. don't know if I just like listing to Sean's voice or if the story is good. slow story progression as usual with a lot of fillers and character development but not much done. still a good listen. hopefully there will be more progression next time.

Overall while I did enjoy this book, and Sean as always knocked it out of the park with his performance, the story felt like it was a bit of a filler compared to the excellence of the earlier book. If you've made it this far its worth listening too, but don't expect something on the levels of books 1 - 4.

Personally, everything that has happened since the time travel has been somewhat disjointed to me. Now Eric can just leave a world, its starting to seem impossible for there to be any long running themes for him to deal with like there was in the first few books. Even the one world he got tied into a bit more in this book seems almost like a sped up version of the first two books with some slightly different themes, resolved by the end of the book.

I have hopes that the next book takes a lot of the threads and binds them into a more impactful and interesting story, else I might not be able to make it to a book 9.

Sean narrates these books perfectly and love the sarcasm too.

Sean kept me hooked yet again and made 44 hours of listening go by without even realising it. I love this series of books and I intend to buy the physical copies of them eventually.
A reluctant hero nightlord vampire, part time avatar and wizard parent and issues with giving up control. who would have thunk it. All that and a dragon sword with severe pyromania and a sarcastic personality and a horse spirit that can pretty much possess any vehicle or space station.

i've been hooked since the first book and would happily listen to them again and again.

Huge fan of this series since the beginning but it's growing repetitive. Not my favorite. You know how usually there is action scenes then a sequence were Éric "gets things à thousands things done" and explains how it works. But then, suddenly!!! Well I'm still waiting on something to happen in this one.
