About this listen
No one knows if Steel is dead or alive...except me.
For months I kept the late night calls from Steel a secret, until he let it slip that he tracked down his villainous sister, Silver. He needs help - even if the powerful angel-shifter is too stubborn to admit it.
But the Steel I find isn’t the same boy from Seraph Academy. He’s darker. Haunted. And the distance between us can’t be crossed by a simple flap of my wings.
When a battle with the Forsaken goes horribly wrong, I awaken as a prisoner inside a Fallen stronghold. My enigmatic abductor - Thorne - is manipulative, secretive, and claiming I’m meant to rule by his side.
I’m not buying it, especially since the alluring offer to unveil the mystery of my seraph ancestry comes at the cost of bringing every Nephilim to their knees.
Lines between the realms will blur. My world will burn. And this time, I’m not sure I can fight the darkness on my own...

Getting better and better
Julie Hall smashed it with Book 2 in the Fallen Legacies series!
This series is getting better and finally I start to like Steel! He had his reasons for pushing Emberly away in book so he is growing on me but I need to know exactly what happened the night Silver was taken when they were kids. We find out more but I feel there is another part to this story!
So much happens in this book starting with the gang going to find Steel which ends up with Emberly been kidnapped yup again lol. This time she is taken by someone like her and leader of the Forsaken Thorn! There is a cheeky wee epilogue for him at the end of this so I can’t wait to see more from him. I have high hopes for him not being all bad.
Talking about ends I’m dreading what’s to come but equally excited!
To really understand this story you need to read book 1 and I for one can’t wait to move onto book 3. All are on KU or you can listen on audible as narrators are great!
This is a Paranormal Romance Gem - Top marks 5/5

Book 2
This is book two in the series. Emberly learns more about her ability and the creatures that have been hunting her. We also learn a bit more about what happened when Steel lost his twinsister all those years ago. This book leaves things hectic and you want the next book to see what happens next. I really enjoyed listening to story and the interaction between all the characters.

Who knew the villains' voices could sound so good?
(Disclaimer: again, with this one, I'll only be focusing on the audio side of the experience more than the actual story).
Having gotten used to Vanessa's voice(s) by now (and having finished SE not so far ago), I knew what was coming and actually kinda looked forward to it. What I loved the most when reading the ebook was how the description level Julie had written made me see the whole thing as a movie playing in my mind, and now, with both narrators, it was upped to another level. 🙌
I can't say enough good things about Adam voicing Steel (it gave me chills every time he'd say "Chapter #, Steel", since, as opposed with the ebook, I never knew when those chapters were coming), but I think he could work a bit more on his Emberly's one. Still, it didn't jar me from the story or anything like that; and, once I got used to it, I found his Tinkle voice funny :) Also, I think Thorne's voice (and the Forsaken) were equally good with either narrator, while Vanessa did a great job with Silver and Seraphim.
Overall, a great audiobook experience that ups the level and enjoyment of this sequel to the series while preparing the listener for the grand finale. ~ 5 stars
Content: steamy kisses but nothing further happens (also, this book is proof that one can write steamy kisses without wandering hands or clothes coming off).
Language: 1-d**n, 1-s**t
Violence: there's plenty (read, PG-13). Compared to other books by this author, I think this aspect has upped by at least a few notches. And while yes, angel-born/Nephilim are tougher than humans, and Forsaken are the bad guys, there were some scenes that left me kind of shocked. I don't know if this would be considered spoilery or not, but just in case, you've been warned: there's beheading, disembowelment, characters with so many wounds they are a bloody mess (literally), and wounds that are bone-deep, to name a few.

Very enjoyable
I started this book with high expectations after the great success of the first one and I was not disappointed. There is mystery, romance, action, drama, fantasy and plot twists. So good. I really recommend it!

incredible
WOWZA FOLKS! 😱 Incredible sequel! Has some Beauty and the Beast vibes 🥀 Emberly and Steel's relationship is growing and I just adore their scenes together!! 🥰 Love the pool scene 💙 I love that she's vulnerable here and Steel helps her out.
There's Steel chapters! 🙌🏼 They're not specifically every other chapter or anything so it's like little surprises along the way!
Our villians or so villiany 😆
There's all the range the emotions. Highs and Lows. Excitement and Fear. Butterflies and Warm Fuzzies. I can say too much without spoiling 🤐 But I can say Its so so good and you should definitely pick it up and read it. And again, clear your schedule. 😁
.
The narrators are phenomenal! 2 of my favorites. Adam Gold makes a smokin Steel 😏
.
.
A few quotes per usual 👇🏼
.
"Pure unadulterated terror rises up from the hollow of my soul and chokes me. I’m going to die."
.
"They’re just words,” he says.
“Sometimes words are more powerful than the sharpest weapons.”
.
A completely ridiculous outfit for the weather, but she hardly seems to mind the cold. She’s probably warmed by the fire of revenge burning in her soul.
.
I go willingly into Steel’s arms, burying my face in his chest as his hands caress my exposed back. My flesh cools under his touch, which makes zero sense, but I’m not about to complain. Somehow, he is the ice to my fire, able to temper the uncontrollable blaze inside. I don’t understand it, but at times like this, I’m thankful for whatever magic is at work. I drag in a lungful of Steel-laced air, and my heartbeat’s frantic cadence reduces to only a slightly elevated rhythm.

Thoroughly enjoyable
I received a free copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.
I love this series and have been looking forward to listening to book 2. It definitely didn't disappoint. Interesting characters, an absorbing plot and some more information on the wider world and background which adds to the whole story nicely. The narrators both did a great job, as with the first book. I'm really looking forward to book 3!

Excellent
I am loving this series and the characters are fabulous especially Emberly and Steel. I had to leave it at chapter 28 for a day as Thorne was really making me soooo angry but he will get what’s coming to him soon . Looking forward to book 3 and hope both Vanessa and Adam will be narrating it again.
