Summary

There is duty. There is justice. And then there is vengeance....

A vicious terrorist attack leaves nearly 70 US sailors dead and the entire United States Navy looking for answers.

In the volatile waters of the Arabian Gulf, the USS Carl Vinson Strike Group - under the command of Admiral Heater Robinson - stands ready to unleash the full fury of a nuclear aircraft carrier against America's enemies. When it becomes clear that the government has no intention of punishing the murderers, Robinson decides to take justice into his own hands, no matter what the cost.

As a storm of terror descends upon the United States, CIA operative and US Navy SEAL Rick Holden faces a moral dilemma of his own. The military elite in Washington have chosen Holden to halt the cycle of madness.

His orders: Assassinate the strike group's commander, Admiral Heater Robinson.

A real page turner - edge of seat stuff!

Page turner with no indication of the outcome - bad or awful! A bit far fetched hopefully but there are nevertheless such ‘snafus’ in real life and a number of near disaster through poor, or no’ communication. A ‘must read’ if only as a warning of what could happen with many countries ‘overarmed’ and driven by over powerful people with inadequate control over their actions.

The conclusion is a message of hope that wiser counsel might win through given the right people in those positions of power (if only!).

Great story narrated with true feeling.

Captivating story with lots of twists & turns… brilliant level of detail which helped to flesh-out the complexity of the story being told. I was sorry it ended!

Gripping thriller

Nice naval techno thriller with good pace and compelling narrative expressing the author’s scepticism of command authority.

Big enjoyable read,

I enjoyed the big picture story line.
no real negatives except maybe too many military technical expressions especially abbreviations..

Could have been good

*slight spoiler, not crucial to the plot* The plot was fast paced but it just got a bit silly for me. An example is the CIA agent who left his top secret emails open, that anyone could access and read by moving his mouse.
