Summary
In this unforgettable seventh book in The New York Times and USA Today best-selling Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Sophie must let the past and present blur together, because the deadliest secrets are always the ones that get erased.
Sophie Foster doesn’t know what - or whom - to believe. And in a game with this many players, the worst mistake can be focusing on the wrong threat. But when the Neverseen prove that Sophie’s far more vulnerable than she ever imagined, she realizes it’s time to change the rules. Her powerful abilities can only protect her so far. To face down ruthless enemies, she must learn to fight.
Unfortunately, battle training can’t help a beloved friend who’s facing a whole different danger - where the only solution involves one of the biggest risks Sophie and her friends have ever taken. And the distraction might be exactly what the villains have been waiting for.

Not as good as the others
This book seems really rushed.
The narrator is different to the others and really grates on your ears when you compare to the other books.
The story is "ok" but really rushed and just not developed properly.
I think the author should have taken her time and spent more time on story development then on the gushing romance.

A very enjoyable read.
Ok, so this book wasn’t may favorite in the series, but it was still very entertaining and enjoyable.
I really like the reader, she has such a range of voices and is beautifully consistent.

Not the best installment
Ok, this is my least favorite book in the series so far, and it is just, I think, because I wanted more from it. Mostly I wanted more progression in the overall storyline. There are only two more parts coming, and I hate to say this but I feel like the author may have written herself into a corner. Or, the next two books need to be filled to the brim with reveals.
Sophie and the gang are confronted with an enemy that is claiming to have lost all his memories. His parents take him back in, but Fitz in particular doesn't trust him at all. After the things that happened in the previous book, it's decided that Sophie doesn't just need one extra bodyguard, but five, basically one from every species they've encountered
Relationships are deepened and tested. There's a really cool battle scene in beginning of this book, and the gang also decides to take on dedicated battle training. As always the way magic is described is just top notch, but , also, as always I wish we got the see more of it
Sophie also deals with PTSD again, and I think it was done very well. The shipping finally gets adressed, but it wasn't satisfying to me. I think she picked the wrong one!
And the final reveal was so lackluster to me, let's hope the story picks itself back up in the next one
Caitlin Kelly does great as always, so much diversity in voices
