Summary

Joining the fight for the Galaxy isn't required. It's a choice.

The United Galactic Government is mired in a decade-long war for control of a key planet. Weakened by overextension and political intrigue, they could lose everything.

When a child of privilege gives up everything to enlist and fight for what is right, he learns what it means to become part of a team. He encounters refugees, aliens he never expected to empathize with, and the loss of comrades. In the end he must develop the courage to stand up, not only to aliens and governments, but his own family.

Packed with military science fiction on par with Galaxy’s Edge, Terms of Enlistment, and Starship Troopers, the Brothers in Arms trilogy will deliver listeners into the jaws of the toughest fight the galaxy has ever known.

OMG

That was such a good book and the ending!!!!
when I started with the book a i was a little confused about what was going on but the book just got better and better as it went on.

I would recommend this for anyone looking for a fast paced scifi action based on action and tactics from the world wars l

Bit of a Mixed Bag

An intense ground war tale with some great detail and a good military series of writing and comradeship.
Found it quite slow to start and maybe about half way through before it properly got my interest although im not sure if the detail or the narration was partially the issue.
The last half picked up and although im a but unsure about the ending this was left with some good remains for further stories.
Shall have a look at the 2nd in the series to see if this will pick up but liked this enough to move into 4 stars.
I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts.

Fantastic gritty mil sci fi book

Absolutely loved listening to this book, Scott Moon has written a great gritty mil sci-fi. That is well written and packed full with characters the listener can connect with, and also includes plenty of action to boot. Scott has created a bleak war torn universe, that means the listener is drawn into the conflicts that happen to the characters. No spoilers but as this is is listed as book one in the series, I cannot wait for the continuation. Well done Scott on creating such a dark but colourful world.

Different to a lot of military conflict Sci-Fi

I enjoyed this book and how it turned out. There was a lot of battles some of them did blur a bit into one. But was captivated by the story and how it turns out. I had to re-listen to the ending about 4 times. I'm still thinking about that. The narrator was excellent and it was easy to follow the story with the various voices.
